Great idea over on pissed on heads.

Pistonheads.com have an automatic place marker!

You read a thread up to post 6, leave, then when you go back to it, just after post 6 is a bar that says "Last Visit"!

I want one!

They did make an announcement at one point about bookmarks. I think it would have been on a Site Stuff thread, and I would only have seen it by chance. I vaguely remember quite a lot of 'stuff' was happening then, but that might be my imagination Grin

I've never read any kind of manual for any forum I've used. You sort of pick it up as you go along. Is there a "How to use the forums" section on here?

On the app you can bookmark. Just swipe right on the post you want to bookmark

Would you consider moving back to the mobile site? Mind you, Hearts says she doesn't like that either Confused

I use the desktop site both on my laptop and iPad. Maybe I'm a tad old-fashioned, but ..............

Datun and Hearts. Could you get yourselves onto the desktop site and try changing your preferences on there first - and then it might work with the mobile or App each of you're both using? It's worth a try anyway!

I've been on here for about five years, and have never had it. So maybe it's something that I can't get. I do periodically ask MNHQ, but I think they say the same as you.

Datun. I believe that the App doesn't have as many functions that the desktop and mobile sites have. And/or newer members of MN don't have access to some of the functions that those of us who've been around for a few years still have access to. Maybe MNHQ could answer this question?

While everyone is being so informative, I have a question. On my phone, my own posts show up as a different colour, but despite how many routes I take to the customise menu, I can't find the option to have the OP's posts show in a different colour.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

On my phone, I just press bookmark again. Just pressing it again turns it off. I'm not sure if the display will disappear, but the function will, I believe

Lego, go into Preferences (the link I posted, above) and just turn it off by saying 'No' and then Save.
