Zombie is old. Zombie is grumpy. She freely admits to those.

Zombie also has one tit left and there are a few posters who are really, really getting on it.

It's getting to the point that she's about ready to take an extended MN holiday just for the sake of her blood pressure and her sanity.

Please, please may we have a hide poster button?

Btw, I do a lot of 'start reading thread, hide thread, run away'. Am dead hard like that Hmm

ginhag · 04/01/2013 11:02

Well I do spout my dubious wit all over the place at times...

Pagwatch · 04/01/2013 10:54

For. For.

No one would check a horses head.

Pagwatch · 04/01/2013 10:54

Capeesh !

I love capeesh.

Absy · 04/01/2013 10:50

"don't ever take sides against the GetOrf family"

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 04/01/2013 10:29

I AM a mobster.

Just call me Silvio.

Capeesh?

Absy · 04/01/2013 10:20

GetOrf's a mobster, sending people to "sleep with the fishes" Shock

I'm still pro hiding posters. There are some thoroughly annoying people out there, and as much as I try to ignore them myself, they're still THERE.

And poor Zombie, at least for Zombie's sake (and her remaining tit)

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 04/01/2013 10:00

But you can rub people out in real life.

Not that I kill them, or anything, I hasten to add. But you can plot people's downfall freeze people out. You don't have to wilfully put up with any old twat in real life.

In response to your mucho confusion Rebecca - there won't be. Nobody would know. You would only have missing posts on your own threads - it won't effect anyone else's.

Mind you, if we are talking about what is or isn't very mumsnet, I would say that 80% of AIBU completely goes against the MN ethos of helping parents nowadays.

But - I know that you don't want to introduce this feature and that's fair enough. I will just buy a couple of voodoo dolls.

Trills · 04/01/2013 09:55

Sparkling, what we really need is a button for 'move this to the right topic' and then we can hide the topic!

If you report threads some MNHQers are quite good about shuffling things to the correct place.

quick update for Hothead: no luck with the firefox/greasemonkey, it kept freezing my lappie so back on chrome and will have to just slide eyes over the numpties as before - but thank you, I really appreciate you taking time to share your tips. Flowers

Pagwatch · 04/01/2013 09:47

I am too nosy to hide posters.

But dear god the wankers...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/01/2013 09:44

Maryz they keep the shit list in the gin cupboard...

RebeccaTheHallsMumsnet · 04/01/2013 09:41

@Maryz

Rebecca, just as a matter of interest, do you have a shit list like some of us do, in our heads.

Are there a number of posters about whom you get loads of reports - ones who stay just the right side of the guidelines but are really fucking annoying on zillions of threads?

And is there any way of dealing with them - maybe sending them a message saying "grow up and stop annoying everyone"?

And if so, is it worth reporting, re-reporting the ones who get on my wick in the hope that if enough people report them that you will do something about them (even if technically they aren't actually breaking any rules).

If that makes sense?

Or do I just have to suck it up and avoid threads they are on (ie half the board)?

I luff everyone me Hmm

yy, keep reporting, that is what we are here for and we will take a look BUT, we can't ban people for being annoying or for having differing views, no matter how frustrating they are.

at my xpost with soupy.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/01/2013 09:32

I hardly ever post anymore because some people make me want to headbutt my monitor and then launch it into my fishtank.

Meh.

Tee2072 · 04/01/2013 09:31

But it is actually easier to avoid people in real life as you can see them coming!!

SoupDragon · 04/01/2013 09:27

Of course, you could just try being a grown up and dealing with stuff like you would in real life. You know, where there is no option to rub people out.

Morning all and Blush at taking so long to get back to you all.

I'm afraid the answer is the same as it has always been - here is Justine's response from the October webchat

"Same old answer really - we think there's a danger of mucho confusion - missing posts etc. We are a discussion site that allows differing and unpopular opinions so it just doesn't feel very Mumsnet."

SPBInDisguise · 04/01/2013 08:39

I want this, fairly desperately but can see a few problems
The repeated "why are you ignoring my questions to yoy?" Posts followed by realisation that they have you hidden
And also potential for bullying "we should all hide..."

Don't agree that the same posters would be hidden by everyone though. People who highly irritate me, other people think are hilarious frank skinner
