Mumsnet Talk Roundup

Tips from Mumsnet

Mumsnet Book Club News

Mumsnet Local updates

Mumsnet offers

Mumsnet swears by

Dya know it would serve me right for being cheeky to Geraldine if I get ignored now. Note to self - don't be cheeky until you're sorted out.

No, it's fine honest. Am fine with [yet more] MNHQ humiliation.

Mumsnet Parenting News is the newsletter this thread is about Grin

We've also got a newer version of that sign-up / sign off page that doesn't make you log in again if you are already logged in here - might be a bit easier. You can get it at www.mumsnet.com/NewsletterSubs

Thanking you kindly PeterKayMumsnet

@Pinot

I don't get a NL.

How do I get one?

Pinot, go to this page, you need to be logged in (it's in My Mumsnet - Email Preferences).

Is the newsletter different from the round up? I hate Times New Roman.

TheSkiingGardener · 04/11/2011 05:15

Hmm, that's interesting. I got the new version . I remember thinking that it looked different, more formal IYSWIM. I was actually less inclined to click, I think because it felt more like an information sheet, rather than a gossipy, see what you've missed and catch up, kind of thing.

BleughCowWonders · 04/11/2011 04:29

Didn't like it (grumpy)

Too bright, couldn't see it all on my phone (not app) and like Cap Nancy I didn't click through on anything. Just huffed and deleted.

Mildly cross old timer.

CaptainNancy · 03/11/2011 23:29

Oh dear- the experiment didn't work then... because I usually click through a couple of links from the newletter, but clicked on none this week because I was v busy earlier.

BecauseImWorthIt · 03/11/2011 23:14

However, I suppose if you're not a very, very regular MNetter, it could be a useful way to enage with the site.

Just not for me because I'm here all the bloody time!

I prefer the old style. Sorry, Justine. It was easier to read - you started at the beginning and read through to the end. If you wanted to find out more, you could click on the specific link. There is no need for the tabs, which just makes it more complicated.

It stops being a summary of Mumsnet, and becomes a pseudo, short version of Mumsnet, which is too complicated. Given that I already receive the round-up and the Mumsnet recommends newsletters, this becomes too much and I can't be bothered with it.

hurrah! I am speshal too.

JustineMumsnet · 03/11/2011 23:01

I think we sent out two versions to test which gets better response - ie clicks back to threads, open rates etc. One aim is to make it shorter and clearer/easier to read based on feedback we got from a survey we did a few months back.
It's v much a work in progress - don't think we've quite got there yet - please do add any thoughts/ideas/gripes.

BecauseImWorthIt · 03/11/2011 22:58

'cos I am special, innit

mine also has bells and whistles but i am unimpressed.

looks a bit flat to me.

Hassled · 03/11/2011 22:50

Crossing out emoticons is way too ambitious.

Why does BIWI's newsletter have bells and whistles while mine is bog standard? Why? I post regularly, I don't troll, I'm always reasonable - where am I going wrong?

AtYourCervix · 03/11/2011 22:44

bugger. no.

meant to be Wine

as in a crossed out wine g;ass.

AtYourCervix · 03/11/2011 22:44

that was meant to be -wine-

AtYourCervix · 03/11/2011 22:43

Wine

bet that dind't work did it?

BecauseImWorthIt · 03/11/2011 22:43

... although that actually made it a bit complicated and I wondered if I could be bothered with all that

OP posts:
BecauseImWorthIt · 03/11/2011 22:42

It was a tabbed newsletter, too

Am I alone in this? Have I been singled out? Am I the chosen one?

Hassled · 03/11/2011 22:41

no space between the -- and the l of like

AtYourCervix · 03/11/2011 22:38

again why?
