Reform lost 6 by elections this week ๐ŸŽ‰

Some good news to start the week!
The mainstream media might be quiet about it, but the numbers donโ€™t lie: Reform UK just lost SIX by-elections in a single week.

Their momentum is officially hitting a wall. On Thursday, they failed to win across the UK and even lost the incumbent seats they were supposed to defend:

  • Amble Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Gained by Labour)
  • Hirst Ward (Northumberland) โ€” LOST (Reclaimed by Labour)
  • Claremont Ward (Blackpool) โ€” LOST (Held by Labour)
  • Long Whatton & Diseworth Ward (NW Leicestershire) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives)
  • Wick & East Caithness Ward (Highland) โ€” LOST (Stormed by Lib Dems)
  • Forth & Endrick Ward (Stirling) โ€” LOST (Held by Conservatives) about:blank 1, 2]

The right-wing vote is splitting down the middle, squeezing them out in low-turnout battles. Proof that real, local communities are seeing through the rhetoric.

Keep it up lads! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Either you didn't read the post properly or you are deliberately trying to twist the facts.

I said I hadn't pointed my finger at any other political party, which is what you had accused me of.

This thread is about Reform losing by elections but you are insisting on trying to derail it to suit your own agenda. Start your own thread if you want to discuss other matters.

You accused me of whataboutery and trying to hijack someone elseโ€™s post. I posted about all Labour and their serious misdemeanourโ€™s. I think it is very hypocritical to be calling out another political parties ie finger pointing, when other parties are just as bad, in fact more prevalent in the Labour Party.

You have accused me of derailing the thread? It appears that we can only contribute to this thread if we agree with slatting Reform. So instead of having reasonable debate we have a one sided view only.

We are free to post where we want. If you donโ€™t like any of my posts please report them.

Ok, let's move on as you suggest, let's talk about the bad behaviour in the Tory Party.

I'll let you begin...

Go for it. Ive spent most of the thread discussing Reform. I didn't bring up any other party. But others have and I think thats useful and interesting. I will comment on those points any one brings up.

Did Farage use Hedley Lamarr Hiring to recruit and vet candidates?

Rustlers, cutthroats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, conmen, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswagglers, horse thieves, bulldikes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass kickers, shit kickers, and Methodists.

You're not serious.

Where I come from, any child goose stepping or doing Nazi salutes in the playground would have been in deep, deep, deep trouble. And they would have been told exactly why.

That's your own memory though. I remember swastikas being bad obviously. But I don't remember anyone being told off for nazi salutes. Its just not something we personally did at my school but I don't think goosestepping was banned. It was a long time ago admittedly so I may be wrong.

This is a thread about Reform UK. You can slate them. Defend them. Discuss them. Or ignore the thread altogether.

The derailing is a desperate and pathetic attempt to shut up posters talking about Reform on a thread about Reform.

The controversy following the discovery that a Wellingborough North Northants Reform councillor had โ€˜inadvertentlyโ€™ signed up to a white supremacist dating site is set to be featured in an ITV documentary tonight.

I mean. That is actually quite bizarre. That there is even such a thing as a white supremacist dating site in the first place let alone that you can sign up by mistake!! I wonder what sort of boxes you have to tick yes to to join.

Obviously not thought unacceptable in the 1970s (and subsequent decades) for the BBC to air the series for so long.

Context is everything.

Did you goose step with your friends because you watched FT?

I just don't think you can speak for the country in the 1970s? Just your own small life at the time. (Small as in we only had TV and newspapers to find out about other school behaviour in other areas of the country)

And also in the 1970s we were free to be as idiotic as we wanted and things that may offend weren't banned as they are today. I can fully imagine some child in a game in the 1970s goosestepping. In fact I rememebr a game called German Soldiers where you had goodies and baddies (the Germans were the baddies obvs)

Derailing? Pathetic attempt to shut up posters talking about Reform? Who has tried to shut anybody up? Hypocrisy is what is being called out, not an attempt to shut up posters. The only thing pathetic is people thinking they can dictate what can be posted.

I was born in a country that spent 5 years under Nazi occupation. So we take this stuff seriously. It's embarrassing to the UK to think that there were lots of people in the 70s who did not, and I doubt it's true.

For the Fawlty aficionados - it relly should be obvious that the goose stepping in that episode was not an expression of support for the Nazis. Never mind what John Cleese believes now.

I'd expect that someone would have explained to that child why they shouldn't be goose stepping.

Kids do all kinds, then and now. That doesn't it mean it was seen as acceptable behaviour.

You wouldn't want you child to use certain words as used by the Reform councillors, would you?

I think you will have had a different experience as a child of course. I can well understand as my family were too. British children didnt support the Nazis or Germans.in the 1970s. They would be just used as the baddies in a game. Dont worry!

This is a bizarre turn.

Everyone...British children did not goosestep in a show of support for the Nazis in the 1970s in a tiny Nuremburg Rally way. The Germans were from recollection the baddies in any game. And people did not ban things in the 1970s for being socially offensive. The only thing from recollection we were definitely not allowed to do was draw the swastika. I remember that because I remember punks having swastikas on them and being horrified.

That's what derailing is, a desperate, pathetic attempt to stop people talking about the topic at hand. It happens a lot on threads about Male violence, misogyny and racism.

But back to the subject at hand, what do you think about Reform's problem with the misogynist, racist, violent men in their ranks @Worrall20?

I havent defended their "racisim and sexism" if you look back. Ive simply said that a lot of people in this country talk the same way. And MN disapproval won't matter a bit tp them.

You got one thing right. British children neither goose stepped nor threw Nazi salutes in the 70s. Their parents and grandparents wouldnโ€™t have tolerated it nor would their teachers.
