"A couple of our contractors"?

Haha, nice try Nige.

There were three Reformers caught on camera up to their necks in this plan to receive foreign donations.

One was Dan Jukes, Farage's senior aide.
One was James Orr, Reform's Head of Policy.
And one was Nigel Farage.

Agree.
James O’Brien on LBC has just said one of
those “contractors” has been hanging around Farage for a decade. He used to carry Farrages stuff into the studio when he did his LBC weekly show. To call them “contractors” is to deliberately distance them for Reform when they are in fact integral part of Farage’s political life.
Also remember NF has lost his very close “fixer” George Coteral (sp) recently as he’s been questioned by the police about the hundreds of thousands of pounds of donations he and his mother have made to Reform.

Cambridge not covering itself in glory at the moment from multiple fronts

Seems that way . Depressing.

And Orr saying Farage doesnt know, and doesnt want to know such things........well that's all right then.....coz we really want a PM who doesnt know, and doesnt want to know anything a bit difficult. Can you imagine. " Prime minister, I think one of our enemies is about to launch a nuclear bomb ". " Well, I'll tell you what, I dont know anything about it, and I dont WANT to know. Now get me another plate of oysters and some champagne ". God give me strength.

I'm not sure Orr is out of the picture. I don' think he's the sort to resign and slink away.

In case anyone's interested, here's a crash course in Thiel and Orr's Stellenbosch-on-the-Cam and Orr's not-a-college on the river in suburban north Cambridge.

Long detailed article:

Palantir Co-Founder Peter Thiel and Reform UK’s Cambridge University Recruitment Pipeline Project Revealed
https://bylinetimes.com/2026/07/09/peter-thiel-and-reform-uks-cambridge-university-pipeline-project/
James Orr’s recruitment drive for students at Cambridge University on behalf of Reform UK has been indelibly linked to Peter Thiel’s opaque involvement in the university, which has been ongoing for more than a decade.

As Byline Times previously reported, the chief of staff at Thiel Capital began travelling to Cambridge regularly to convene a network of conservative academics across the university as early as 2016.

Three years later, in 2019, James and Helen Orr purchased their rambling riverside property when it became clear that James Orr could secure a position as Associate Professor in the Faculty of Divinity.

Byline Times can reveal that this coincided with a secret donation to Cambridge University from Peter Thiel.

University documents seen by Byline Times confirm that the Palantir co-founder made an offer of a five-figure donation to the institution through James Orr in November 2018, when he was under consideration for the role of University Lecturer in the Philosophy of Religion.

Thank you for sharing that. I consider Thiel to be genuinely dangerous.

Bloody disgusting. With all these revelations recently, Cambridge is starting to look seriously bent. A money grubbing, corrupt institution. What a shame. Hundreds of years of academic excellence, and now sliding into the same cesspit as every other bloody corrupt institution in this country. Yuck.

Fan base or no fan base, this is a criminal matter.

In April 2026, Orr was appointed Head of Policy and senior adviser for Farage's party, Reform UK. He openly described Cambridge as a "useful recruiting ground" for a future Reform administration. 1, 2]

From Google re Orr. Funny how Farage was actually there and hasn't stepped down.

Who are James Orr and Dan Jukes? Reform officials quit over undercover sting

Nigel Farage’s senior aide and head of policy have stepped down, pending the outcome of an internal investigation

Some serious stepping up needs to happen then, to counter this sordid state of affairs. Time for the good guys to speak up.

Yes, and I don't think that connection is as far-fetched as we might think. You have the close relationship of James Orr with JD Vance - who has humiliated Zelensky, flown to Hungary to try to save Viktor Orban, the sympathiser, who I shared the diary of earlier, lives in Hungary. The student of Orr, with no theology background, who worked for Orban. Orban was always thwarting the attempts of the EU to support Ukraine, Nigel Farage hates the EU, appoints Orr as head of policy .......

Many of them are looking at the ReformUk Reddit sub…

BurntBroccoli · 04/09/2026 13:12

I imagine these polls are just the tip of the iceberg. This must have been happening ever since Labour were elected in July 2024.

Possibly during Brexit too… Any polls during that time should be investigated as to who funded them.

hotmumshit · 04/09/2026 13:12

Is your average working class person who hates migrants looking at reddit though?

😔

Sorry I know i am being a proper Debbie downer, its just that this has been a long time coming and we are at a really dangerous point now with the rise of the far right

This isnt big enough to damage him with the right people imo 😔

Sorry @BurntBroccoli

Let's just hope that the electoral commission and relevant laws are worth anything. If not what's the point of having political rules. He needs to resign.

Completely agree

Also, the one who works at Cambridge - surely he will be fired? Surely the daily mail and times will run adverts with his face on, just like they did to another professor? Surely 🤔

Yes - at least the Hungarians got rid of Orban, no thanks to Vance. I have found James Orr one to watch for a while, more interesting than Farage.

I can't open the Guardian where I am, but I got a version of the FT article, and it reads like a cross between a Bond film, throw in "The boys from Brazil, and a chunk of Waco Texas for good measure.

These folk are nuts.

Yes, crazy stuff but worryingly real. Below is the main body of that Guardian article, from 3 years ago. Add to that - the MCC is funded by government-provided shares in the Hungarian multinational oil company MOLGroup, which refines oil from Russia and elsewhere. (Wikipedia).

Sources have said a Hungarian cultural centre near Trafalgar Square is expected to include a branch of Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC), a private university sometimes likened to a seminary for young Orbán-sympathising scholars and future leaders.

MCC, which is lavishly funded by Orbán’s government – in 2020 it received more than £1.3bn in state money and assets – already operates in the UK through a deal with the Roger Scruton Legacy Foundation, which promotes the ideas of the late British conservative philosopher.
MCC finances scholarships for hundreds of students to attend top universities, some of whom will now be sent on courses in the UK.
Orbán’s support for MCC and other institutions that espouse his ideas has been described by one supporter of the Hungarian prime minister as an attempt to create a worldwide “deep state” to cement his legacy.
Some alumni of MCC have told the Guardian that the college appeared to select bright students from modest backgrounds, who were taken to expensive restaurants and on foreign trips and addressed by far-right speakers including the US broadcaster Tucker Crlson and Orbán himself.
Orbán, who won his fourth consecutive term last year, has been hostile towards LGBTQ+ people, asylum seekers, NGOs and the independent media, with MCC a key part of how he wields cultural power. This year MCC bought Hungary’s largest bookseller, which subsequently began wrapping children’s and young adult books that feature LGBTQ+ characters in plastic.
A key connection in the UK is James Orr, a Cambridge divinity academic who has close links to a series of rightwing Conservative MPs. Orr co-runs the UK branch of the Roger Scruton Legacy Foundation and has close links to MCC
Orr, who told the Guardian he had no knowledge about any move into London by MCC, was one of the organisers of May’s National Conservative Conference which was attended by a series of Conservative ministers and MPs. He is also involved in a think-tank with the Tory MPs Danny Kruger and Miriam Cates.
Among members of the Scruton foundation’s advisory board are John Hayes, another leading culture war-friendly Conservative MP, and Douglas Murray, the Spectator writer, who is also a visiting fellow at the Danube Institute, a rightwing thinktank partly funded by the Hungarian state.
