Well done essbee. Glad to hear you are feeling a bit more positive and ready to take steps forward. Remember...baby steps, take one day at a time.

I know how you feel right now, having been there myself. If you want to chat off board, feel free to email or msn me. antlxstew at yahoo.co.uk

essbee.. well done on taking the first step.

Tell the GP everything, and hopefully things will start rolling, and you will finally get the help you have been needing for so long.

You have many, many friends who care (despite not knowing you in RL!!!).

You will get through this.

Metrobaby · 10/03/2005 08:34

Thinking of you Essbee. So many people think so highly of you. Please don't run yourself down. Good luck at the GP. Today is a new day. xxxxx

Toothache · 10/03/2005 08:09

Essbee - I wasn't in work yesterday so just caught this. Don't apologise, it must have been very scary for you.... and probably still is! You have a fight ahead of you but the fight is just SO worht it in the end.

WELCOME BACK!!!

WideWebWitch · 10/03/2005 07:51

Essbee, I'm so glad you're going to talk honestly to your gp, good for you.

wobblyknicks · 10/03/2005 07:33

So glad to hear you sound more determined essbee. Telling the gp everything should help - hopefully they'll find something that works for you now. All the things you're doing sound really positive. Good luck for the gp today, hope this is the start of things getting a lot better xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

tigermoth · 10/03/2005 07:29

essbee, lots and lots of luck for today and your GP meeting. I think soupy is a star too.

It might be good if possible to have a bit more time away from your children and work so you can rest (whether at your home or at a friends home) Is this the longest time your parents and exh have looked after your children alone? If so, it will be interesting to see how they are coping (especially your parents) and if this changes their attitudes to you once they experience for themselves how much you have been taking on.

mammya · 10/03/2005 02:08

Essbee it's good to see you back. Take care of yourself.

mummytosteven · 10/03/2005 01:16

You're going to take that first step, by going to the GP tomorrow, and try and grab as much help as is on offer to you. As long as you take the first step, there should be support to you. Just booking that appointment, and speaking honestly to your GP is a great thing for you to have managed.

There's no magic bullets for dealing with depressive periods - you just have to ride through the worst bits in the best way you can, and look through to happier times ahead. alcohol doesn't work, as it depresses you further afterwards.

Gwenick · 10/03/2005 01:02

[big hug] essbee - you WILL get through this

franch · 09/03/2005 20:38

essbee, I haven't seen the comment you refer to - can't find it in the sea of support that's here for you. Surely that says something. There's a card in the post from me and you are in my thoughts. There's been suicidal depression in my family and I would always take thoughts and actions like yours seriously. You did the right thing for yourself AND YOUR CHILDREN by posting here - give yourself some credit. Take it easy on yourself - guilt and self-blame are wasted emotions. Onwards and upwards.

A big hug from me.

Only read your first post here but wanted to send a big hug your way and I'm not normally a huggy person.
