BTW I would have snatched stdt's pencil from him and pencilled a large T W A T and said, can you tell what it is yet? this is you!..touche!

Katemum · 12/03/2005 09:40

Essbee I hope you had a lovely nights sleep and STDT got his pencils stuck up his backside

Spacecadet · 12/03/2005 09:28

Essbee, read your other thread with sadness and concern but couldnt think of anything to write, firstly please dont apologise for what you did, you felt desperate and were not thinking rationally, depression is a very cruel illness as it affects an unseen part of our body and therefore it is easy to cover up or for others to ignore it. Our brains are very powerful and complex and cant work correcly if the sensitive balance of chemicals is"out". its not your fault you felt the way you did,I have been to that place and its hard to function when you feel that your mind is letting you down . I know the feeling of craving the calm, you did what you did because you couldnt bear to feel the way you did anymore. When I worked within the mental health services I worked with many people who had attempted suicide, and they always said the same thing, " I only did it because I couldnt bear to feel like this anymore" Its a bit like walking around with a broken arm that wont get better, the pain gets worse and worse.I do hope that maybe now you can start to move forward and that recovery is waiting for you, it wont be an overnight thing, but i beleive you will get there, if you ever feel that way again, which I hope you wont, please ring someone or even text them, you were fantastic when I was feeling that I couldnt go on and I wont forget it, the world is a nicer place with you in it.

don't sink, get angry.

iota · 12/03/2005 08:28

morning essbee
sorry to hear that the STDT wasn't helpful.
hope today is a better day for you

tigermoth · 12/03/2005 07:41

What a patronising load of twaddle from the cahms 'expert'! I am so cross you are being fobbed off like this.

Hurrah for your ds's teacher and headteacher. They know your ds far better than this 'expert'. As they're experienced teachers, they must have had dealings with Cahms in the past, and know what sort of help they can give. So if they think this Cahms expert was in the wrong, believe them! Not only are the teachers on your side, they seem to be actively getting involved to help you. When the head has her phone appointment with Cahms on Monday, I hope she tells them words are not enough, you and your ds need proper support.

Glad to see your parents were helping with the bedtime routine etc. I hope their recent hands on experience with childcare has made them appreciate just what you've had to do.

katierocket · 12/03/2005 06:50

morning essbee - did you have a good sleep?

mummytosteven · 11/03/2005 22:48

get a bath and bed. you need to hold you head up high and say I AM A FAB MUM WHO WANTS THE BEST FOR HER CHILDREN, AND HAVE THE PATIENCE OF A SAINT!

as honestly, that's what I think of you.

Whatever STDT thought was causing DS problems, if he was doing his job properly he should have been pulling his finger out to SOLVE them.

unicorn · 11/03/2005 22:39

try and get some sleep too then!
glad you are with us (in all senses! virtual and Rl)

Got to watch end of Fame academy now..

have to go to bed now but will be sending you good vibes essbee and bad vibes to STDT!

unicorn · 11/03/2005 22:22

forever to be known as STDT (stupid tree drawing tosser!!)

unicorn · 11/03/2005 22:21

katierockey {smile] indeed!

katierocket · 11/03/2005 22:20

and it's not just you essbee that knows that - a teacher with 16 years experience agrees with you. Whereas stupid tree drawing tosser probably spends all day sharpening his pencils.

total and utter bollocks (not you essbee) ESSBEE).. is this person at camhs supposed to be helping you at all?

I would personally like to stuff this persons 'manual on mothers' in his/her nearest orifice.

wobblyknicks · 11/03/2005 22:17

Stupid twt. Even IF* he was totally right, your problem is the now, not the past and drawing diagrams won't help that!!! And how dare he lump stupid guilt on you for nothing!!! Maybe if he'd spent more time listening and less time drawing you wouldn't have to wait until May for help!!!

katierocket · 11/03/2005 22:15

what an ARSE - how DARE he. I'm bloody cross for you essbee . Please try not to think about it (difficult I know). I know there are loads of people on here who will have lots of useful practical advice of how to deal with it. Unfortunately all I can offer is sympathetic anger!

mummytosteven · 11/03/2005 22:14

blame the mother has always been popular with psychologists over the years, hasn't it

god essbee that is so frustrating, how crap to have to deal with someone obviously so useless and patronising. Sounds like the teacher is a star though; good to have her support.

unicorn · 11/03/2005 22:11

essbee.. (with camhs that is)
That person drawring a tree was complete and utter b* llocks.. and what the hell was the PND stuff...?

In the past I have had a very poor experience with Camhs.. and will get around to complaining.

Tbqh I reckon some of these 'experts' have a lot of their own issues, and are actually crap.

It sounds like you had extremely shoddy treatment and I would complain to the highest authority.. how dare he say he had run out of time and see you in May!

Can you request/demand to see someone else?

sorry essbee- bit of a bugbear of mine this,I hate the patronising/dismissive way vulnerable people are treated by some in this sensitive area.

How are you? (apart from exhausted dealing with dckheads?)
