Quetiapine and alcohol. How dangerous is it?

I've had 2 large glasses of wine. Trust me when I say I've had a tough week. I have complex PTSD. I take a tiny dose of Quetiapine, just 25mg to sleep and 125mg lamotrigine, which I'm still titrating up. I've been on them for about 3 months. Can I still take my Quetiapine later? I take it at about 10, it's 5pm now and I'll stop drinking, all be it reluctantly. I'm not overly arsed about what happens but I could do without dying today. Any experience? Thanks in advance.

Dying would be very inconvenient @OneAvidAmberLion. It really isn't a great idea to mix the two but it's done now, don't skip the dose. I'd wait as late as possible tonight before taking it though. Keep an eye on your blood pressure if you can before bedtime, keep well hydrated and any dizziness or poor coordination call NHS24.

Thanks for the response. May I ask, what happened when you drank up to taking it? I'm not really sure I want to stop.

If you are taking it just before bed, and not drinking any more, you will be fine.

Before weaning myself off it I was on a higher dose and (stupidly) drank up til bedtime and then took it, I was fine, but wouldn’t advise it.

One unit of alcohol takes approx an hour on average to metabolise, although this does depend person to person, but you have plenty of time for it to be out of your system before you take your meds at bedtime.
