Hi all, I'm on day 4 of sertraline and the side effects have been absolutely horrific. I've gone through so many old posts on this but was wondering if anyone was currently in the same boat so we could support each other?

hi! I’ve been taking them for 15 yrs. It was really tough at the start and I went up to 75mg. For the last 10yrs I’ve been taking 50 mg on Mo Wed Fri and 25 mg on Tue and Thu. Nothing at weekends. My GP supports this. I’m glad it’s working for me - though it’s been a journey. Everyone will experience it differently though.

Does anyone have experience of going from 50mg to 100mg?

I think I’m on day 7 of upping the dose, and struggling with it.. I know this could go on for a couple of weeks. Maybe I should have gone to 75 first.

I feel hot all the time, and spiked anxiety, insomnia but exhausted.

The first time I was on it I felt so sick, i could compare it to my morning sickness. The 2nd time I had no side effects other than weight gain. Im not on it anymore as advised to come off it due to wanting another baby

I started sertraline last night, only 25. Felt fine all night and all day but suddenly I feel so sick. I'm taking them mainly for health anxiety and feeling sick is a huge trigger for me. I'm due to take another one now but I can't even eat, so I don't know if I can keep taking it and do days, never mind weeks of this. But I feel so pathetic as everyone else manages it

@LostTheWill29

You're not pathetic I had a bad experience with it, 6 weeks of severe diarrhoea and now permanently inflamed colon.
Mentally I felt numb.
My beloved Prozac stopped working for me after 20 yrs.
It's not you it's your body.
I'm on the lowest dose of escitalopram and I feel pretty bad last few weeks having felt ok for few months.
I just wanted to say you, me we're not pathetic.
It's a gamble and a waiting game, a really cruel one.
Xxx
