Anyone TTC number 2 in your mid-30s and fancy company?

Anyone else TTC number 2 in their mid-30s and fancy some company? 😊

I’m 35, have a DD who is just about to turn 4, and we’ve just started our first cycle trying for number 2.

I feel like we’d just reached the glorious stage of proper sleep, no nappies, actual conversations and being able to leave the house without half of the house crammed into a changing bag… so naturally I decided what our lives really need is a newborn 😂

I went very Type A when TTC my DD and turned the whole thing into a project - LH strips, BBT, supplements, special lube, the works 🙈 This time I’m trying very hard to be more relaxed and go with the flow. Trying being the operative word 😂

Would love some company from anyone in a similar boat: TTC number 2, mid-30s, slightly excited, slightly questioning their own sanity and trying not to symptom spot at 2DPO 😂

PS. Currently on cycle 1 and my fertile window is just about closing, so now entering the very calm and rational part where I definitely won’t analyse every bodily sensation for the next two weeks 😂🙈

I haven't caught up with everyone yet but wanted to pop in and say @CasualOverthinker... I see it!!! Very similar to my 4dp5dt (9dpo) evening test... but darker because you can actually take a picture. 😂 I have everything crossed for you and look forward to the update.

Started testing this morning at 9dpo, for god knows what reason. I know it’s negative but I still think I see a shadow on every test I do 🤣 If I was made of money I’d just do digitals, no need to keep looking at those every five minutes just in case it’s changed 🤣🤣

@Agathapoirot I caved and tested at 8dpo this morning, fully knowing it was going to be negative anyway but I couldn't help myself 🫣 I have the worst line eyes, always think I can see something, especially on the cheap strip ones!

Hey girls! Thanks so much for your replies and kindness to my unhingedness lol.

I have a non-update tbh.
Did a FMU FRER this morning and I still see what I can only describe as a whisper of a line. There is no obvious pink line. But it’s not entirely stark white test either. I would say yesterday I took me a good 15 min of squinting to spot that “shadow/line” whereas this morning it took me like 1.

I think realistically there’s only 2 possibilities.

  1. either it’s still way too early for me, and this is the pre-beginning of a line, and needs another 48 h or so, or
  2. it’s dud tests and this is indent, evap, or something totally unrelated to pregnancy
My period is supposedly due between Fri and Mon, so I think if there is nothing definitive on Fri morning, then it probably isn’t it for me.

so top one is yesterday’s, and bottom one is today. I keep oscillating between “I can’t see anything/ there’s nothing there” and “wait, I think there is something there” 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think I need to put the FRER down and wait for either AF or to re-test in 48 h. Ughhhh.

I can for sure see it clearer in the bottom test. Can you pick up any different tests so you can rule out indent?

I caved this morning and had a BFN, 12dpo. I was cleaning the potty while waiting for the timer to be up, turned round and toddler had continued his 💩 on the bathroom mat 💀 times have changed since my last round of TTC!

I had a picture of my test but realised I took it over the pot of wee so I'll spare everyone 😂

@Agathapoirot I bought some Clear Blue advanced ultra mega early lol. The names they come up with… question is do I waste one later this afternoon/evening or try to wait till tomorrow??

Awww I’m so sorry, that sounds so hard! How many DPO are you? Can it be that the test is still not detecting it?

I've lost count on my dpo. I'm hoping its a case of pregnancy tests just not detecting it. I was around 5 weeks when I got a positive with my youngest so its possible. Got to wait 3 weeks before doctors will do a blood test

@CasualOverthinker- that was the type of line I was getting on FRER (and I can definitely see the bottom one better!). I got the clear blue ultra early advanced which is the pink dye one and it was MUCH easier to see. Which surprised me. I had a wee and then dehydrated myself for three hours before I took it!

Guys, I think I’ve reached the point where I no longer trust my own eyes. 😂

I’ve gone from “there’s definitely a whisper there” to “I’ve completely imagined the whole thing” about 500 times today.

The thing that’s throwing me is that I’m on cycle day 28, and my cycles are usually 29–33 days, so part of me keeps thinking if this is a genuine positive surely it should be more obvious by now… but then I also have absolutely no confidence about when I actually ovulated this month. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ughhhhhhhh why does the TWW feel about 700 years long?!? 😩🤡 And this is Cycle 1 for me, mind you. 🙃 I genuinely thought I’d be one of those cool, relaxed people who’d test on the day my period was due and just see what happens. Instead I’ve become a part-time pregnancy test analyst with a panel of Mumsnet consultants. 😂

I personally think the best thing you can do, is leave it and do a clear blue tomorrow morning. If that also feels inconclusive to you, then wait a couple of days and then test again if no AF.

It’s just the unknown that throws us for a loop, I try and tell myself that this time next week… I’ll have clarity… and that some times makes me feel a bit better!

It really is the unknown. If it’s “you are, but it’s just too early” – fine. If it’s “you’re not this cycle, maybe next month” – also fine.
It’s this Schrödinger’s uterus situation that’s sending me over the edge. 🤡🙃

No I tested. I’d have definitely had a positive by now if I was. I’m not feeling too bad (despite it being month 3 after last MC) as I’ve got an appointment on Monday. Crossing my fingers for that.

@CasualOverthinker- I was the same! Over all the rounds I've had many many many pregnancy tests, and yet I have either seen a line or seen a blank. So to see maybe perhaps something, but nothing I can get on a photo and also maybe it's in my head... it just breaks my brain!
I had two days of this back at the start of testing, but when the strong positives came, it was all worth it. I'd say "oh, maybe it's best to wait until you get a definitive result" but we all know that's not me (or, probably, you!).
