thread not thrad!!! Wretched iPad keypad :)

Arianrhod · 22/11/2012 18:20

Aarrgghh Sorry meant to post that on SO thrad, not this one. Wretched iPad browser and its tabs.

Arianrhod · 22/11/2012 18:19

And remember, DHEA doesn't affect AMH - AMH is quantity of eggs not quality, DHEA doesn't give you more eggs, it (sometimes) improves the quality of eggs you have.

Arianrhod · 22/11/2012 18:15

LMAO kittens, fab answers!! Lots of luck for tomorrow, hope all goes well.

holldoll · 22/11/2012 16:59

Kittens - good luck for tomorrow's scan, I hope it goes well

PQ - I agree with kittens I would have struggled not to say something sarcastic back. Some people are insensitive and stupid!

Havingkittens · 22/11/2012 16:36

PQ, sadly you have to take into consideration that some people are actually quite thick! I'm not sure what answer she would be expecting other than the obvious. I would've been tempted to say something sarcastic like "probably because of all the gin and fags I got through during pregnancy" or "my husband is a pigmy".

My scan is tomorrow afternoon. Trying to remain calm!

ChoccyPud · 22/11/2012 11:40

sue I'm so pleased for you. It's a tough road but it must feel good in a way to know you can get back on it when you're ready. Big hugs to you. x

PQ must be tempting to get all "Roid rage" at idiotic remarks like that. Wishing you strength in the face of tactless stupidity x

Arianrhod · 22/11/2012 10:30

PQ I'd have been so tempted to retort "why is your baby so big?" Grin Seriously though, why do people think they have a right to make personal comments, I never understand that! Your baby is growing exactly as he is supposed to, as long as he is healthy then everything is as it should be!

PQ77 · 22/11/2012 10:14

sue I'm really happy for you that it was a one off and you have the green light to push on. Not that it will be at all easy but as everyone says we're here for you.

belly how are things going? Have things started naturally? I hope so.

kittens remind me when your 20 week scan is?? Or did I miss that.

My wee man is still very wee - getting tongue tie snipped this Friday so hopefully that will mean he can get more milk out of me! Went to a running class yesterday (you know where you run with your buggy) and another mother asked me, no word of a lie, "why is your baby so small?"! Someone made a good suggestion though - get a really crazy hat for him so people comment on the hat...

Hope everyone else is ok

choccy are you ttc or having a break?

holldoll · 22/11/2012 09:23

Sue - I am pleased that your results are allowing you to start TTC again. It must have been awful returning to the hospital. Thinking of you x

Arianrhod · 22/11/2012 09:04

Here here kittens, couldn't agree more!

sue Thank goodness they were able to reassure you there's nothing to stop you TTCing again, although of course it's fecking horrid that you're having so start all over. We're here to hold your hand, and here's hoping that you don't have long to wait for your success story!

Havingkittens · 21/11/2012 22:36

Sue, I'm so glad to hear that they've been able to reassure you that what happened was a one off. I hope it has allayed your fears but I know that what you have been through makes embarking on your TTC journey even more nerve wracking than ever. Hopefully we can give you moral support along the way.

Belly, so sorry to hear of your miscarriage. It just stinks that we all have had to endure this pain and loss over and over again. Everyone here deserves a fucking break from the heartache as far as I'm concerned!

BellyD · 21/11/2012 19:11

Sue so glad that the pm has given you the all clear to try again. I am sure the whole experience was very harrowing, what a brave lady you are. Best of luck with the whole ttc business when AF arrives. X

suemays · 21/11/2012 18:39

Good news from my pm results. The kidney failure was a one off and not genetic and could have happened to anyone. They couldn't find any other abnormalities so we are fine to try again next month. I did ask if my age of 40 was a factor but apparently not as young mothers can have this happen. Just waiting for my period to arrive in the next few days. It was traumatic going back to the hospital where I gave birth and bought back a lot of suppressed memories but at least we have closure.

Arianrhod · 20/11/2012 15:29

sue I think you got your PM results today, thinking of you and hoping it has given you some answers. hugs

freelancegirl · 18/11/2012 09:54

Hi all, nice to see a few others popping in too. I am still lurking as well but not much to add. KIttens, Olives et all remember this thread is for 'ttc and pregnancy' so don't feel bad about posting. I remember thinking it was really helpful to have someone to understand the mentalling involved in being pregnant after recurrent mcs and on the treatment. PQ has a good point.

Sue I really hope you get some answers re the post mortem - and ones that don't affect you trying again. Yes it will be so hard to get back on the ttc wagon again with all its ups and downs.

suemays · 16/11/2012 10:26

belly thanks for your reassurance especially when you are going through another miscarriage. I know exactly how you feel as the dream of a baby feels so distant to me too. It's hard to keep positive when it happens time and time again. My last pregnancy was my 7th loss and would have worked in terms of miscarriage so don't lose hope yet. There are a few on here who have had 7th time lucky I think?
Have you tried acupuncture as I am convinced that helped me with early miscarriage?

BellyD · 16/11/2012 08:01

Sue good to hear from you. Totally understand the lurking and general anxiety about next Tuesday and beyond. There will be plenty of support here when you feel up to ttc again. You are so brave.

Mainly lurking too. Most of the ttcers post on the superov thread I think. Mmc no. 6 for us this week, same old story between 6-7 weeks despite throwing all the drugs at it. I realise we were lucky to get Preg so quickly following last mc in July, but I was terrified when I found out I was Preg again (hence didn't post) and now just waiting for nature to kick in as I can't face a 5th erpc. Not sure what we will do next. Our dream of having a family is as far off as ever. Sorry to sound so miserable.

Havingkittens · 15/11/2012 20:07

Oh, Sue, I can totally understand why you're staying away. How are you doing? There is every chance that they will tell you that the kidney problem was just a very unfortunate case of random bad luck. But I totally understand your trepidation at TTC again.

holldoll · 15/11/2012 18:08

I really feel for you sue. Good luck with the PM results, we are thinking of you. Take care

suemays · 15/11/2012 17:04

I am one of the lurkers as finding it really hard to see the pregnant ladies moving up the list when I should be 28 weeks now and looking forward to meeting my LO. We get the results from the post mortem next tues and I am so worried they will find a reason that we can't try again. I am also shit scared of trying again as my 2nd period since the birth is due early next week so if nothing is found we will be TTC in a couple of weeks. I am already anxious and dreading the whole peeing on a stick/analysing every twinge!

brownstag · 15/11/2012 12:18

You would hope those people who make stupid comments like that would afterwards think of it with a sense of shame, but I doubt it. I would squirm until the end of my days if I'd said something like that. (But then I am always putting my foot in it and analysing it afterwards with horror, according to my DH.)

ChoccyPud · 15/11/2012 10:31

Thanks PQ that's a very sweet thing to say :). I hope there are people lurking though it is awfully quiet here at the moment...

I have no experience but those competitive mothers sound awful. We've talked about useless relatives and lack of thought/empathy before and it's depressing to see it doesn't end when you've got your baby! People are crap sometimes aren't they? Surely as long as DS is doing well against his own starting point that's the main thing?

Anyway, big hugs to you and kittens for being so strong in the face of stupidity Grin

I was thinking we haven't heard from scooter for a while too... If you're out there I hope all is well...?

brownstag · 14/11/2012 15:17

PQ, I remember all that so well with my DS. He was small too (although fortunately without the complications you've had), and my advice would be to compare him only to himself: block out all those other thumping great babies at the weigh-ins! I've always said to myself if I'm lucky enough ever to have another baby I would really try to chill out about centiles and breastfeeding (I was totally obsessed about how much was going in and out and how rubbish I was at breastfeeding). It all comes right in the end and you don't need to put any pressure on yourself. My son is still skinny and probably always will be but he's been healthy since. I just remember when I told Mr Shehata about the scan I had done abroad at 26 weeks which showed my placenta was 'attentuated' and he said that was the cause of his small size and it could easily have ended as a stillbirth. I'm just so grateful he's here.

PQ77 · 14/11/2012 14:06

kittens yes people love to share an inappropriate story! People are so keen to show they empathise which is nice but sometimes it means they are not very good at listening - eg people hear that Ds was nearly 5lbs when he was born and then launch into a story about how that is massive compared to xyz's baby and then fail to hear the bit about the steroid injection not working and his lung collapsing (with these people I don't even bother to mention the fact he stopped breathing last month I just smile and say he's perfectly fine).

Managed to burst into tears at a breastfeeding "support" group yesterday as everyone kept on commenting on how small he was and felt so down that he's 9weeks and only 7lb. Slow progress. free just let me know when is good for you - I am usually free mornings. Breastfeeding.

People might not feel like it but there is a lot of empathy here from the pregnant people/ graduates for the ttc struggle (we are good listeners! Smile) Please do share.

Amongst others I would love to hear from scooter
