Opinions on the girl name Alba?

We love Alba for our baby girl.

The only criticism for the name I can imagine, is a likeness to Albert.
However I personally don’t foresee that as an issue.
We love the nickname Allie, as my mother’s name is Alison and she goes by Allie aswell.

Just wanted general opinions to see if there was anything I was missing with the name / any reasons not to use.

Middle name will be Sofia after my grandmother.

other options we still have running are:
Iris
Cassia
Gia
Margot

Not all with middle name Sofia, depending on flow of course.

It was also the name of a short-lived political party in Scotland led by Alex Salmond at the start of this decade that fizzled out in a financial crisis shortly after his death. Salmond had various sexual harrassment claims made against him and the party's politics were a weird mix of social conservatives and nationalist fundamentalists. For that reason it would be a no from me, but this association may be less relevant outside of Scotland.

I vaguely remember it now you mention it, but it certainly wasn’t my first thought. I think most people outside of Scotland really wouldn’t bring it to mind, not least now he’s dead.
