Pretty girl names ? Help

We have 6 or less weeks until baby girl is here but still can’t figure out a name… we’re both really fussy so it does not help.

Names I like but husband says no: Madeleine

Names he likes but I do not: Josie, Hailey, Isabelle

So these are out, as well as all the ones similar ( don’t like Adeline, madison , Josephine etc)

We have 2 that we like and are reserving as backup if we really can’t find anything : Emma & Molly, but I just don’t love them and I’d like to love our baby’s name. Don’t really like old fashioned names or anything too unique. Help please !!!

Pretty depends on a person so need to narrow down.

Get 3-5 names and decide when you meet the baby.

Would Emmeline be a compromise?

My advice would be to go onto the ONS website and download the girls names spreadsheet for a recent year and scroll through all the options on tab 6 (every name used in England and Wales that year for at least 3 babies). Or do the equivalent for a different country if you're based elsewhere.

You said you're not looking for a unique name, so if you can't find a name on that list that you both like I don't know what other names you're likely to find. Perhaps you're the type of people who will know the name once you meet the baby - there's absolutely nothing wrong with that too!

Josie - not keen
Hailey - don't like
Isabelle - overused. I don't like Izzy or Belle
Adeline - don't like. The one I know is 'Adda-lyne' not 'Addelyn'
Madison - don't like
Josephine - like
Emma - like a lot
Molly - like

Suggestions: Emmeline, Holly, Polly

Emma and Molly are much nicer than the other names.

You don't need to love the name but you need to be sure that you will always like it.

I think your Madeleine and his Josie, Hailey, Isabelle are all similar in style!

It depends what you mean by old fashioned. Yes of course Dorothy for example is very old fashioned but names such Jessica and Hannah are quite old fashioned now just not as old fashioned but they are also classic and both very pretty. Names such as Nancy. Daisy. Elsie and Sadie are very pretty and feminine but again also quite old fashioned
