Thoughts on this name for a girl?

No

It’s pretty, but it just doesn’t sound like the name of a person to me. It sounds awkward to say. Imagine yourself using it in a sentence.

I met a Fauvette once, I thought that was quite nice

What surname would it go with?

Calliopespa · 01/08/2026 01:18

Too close to Faustian pact.

Fotini is sweet.

ShetlandishMum · 01/08/2026 06:21

Too posh. Don't.

AmIReallyTheGrownup · 01/08/2026 06:30

Horrible.

Fine if you are French. But if you live in the UK or Ireland I think it would be a difficult name to have and it doesn't sound very appealing (to my ears) with an Anglicised pronunciation.

purplecorkheart · 06/08/2026 14:24

No, I also thought of the Opera. Weirdly it also comes across as very old fashioned to me. No child will thank you for that name in the UK or Ireland. You will be giving them a future of having to repeat themselves and spelling out the name everytime.
