Nick is my favourite boys name (short for Nicholas) but wanted to know other people’s opinions! Also may use Nicky as a nickname when younger.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think it’s so so dated.

Every boy Nick I know is 50 plus.

To me it would be like calling a baby Steve, Dave, Martin, Paul. Nothing wrong with those names as such, but just of their time. It’s not a classic like James, William, Harry, George.

Of course it's a classic.
St Nicholas (Santa Claus) has been around for a bit. His feast day is 6th December.
As have St Stephen, St David, St Martin and St Paul. All these names are just as classic as James, William and George

I really like Nicholas / Nicky / Nick and you rarely hear it these days, so it hits that sweet spot of being familiar but not too popular.

Agree. I love it.

I think thats really cute.

Its a classic. I know Nick/Nik’s in their 70s, 60s, 50s and a whole cluster of 17 year old ones (I have a 17 year old DS though, but he has 3 friends called Nick).

Congratulations!
Welcome to the world little Nicholas! ❤️

Lovely OP 🥰 I like Nicholas/Nick/Nicky. Great choice! It’s the perfect blend of “regular name that isn’t actually popular right now”. 😁

choinka · 23/09/2025 12:56
