That's it really, I really like pie but am stuck for a 'proper' name that could be shortened to this.

Thanks!

purplefish · 27/01/2011 19:23

Maggie...obviously

TallulahdoesthehulainHawaii · 27/01/2011 19:25

Why, oh why, oh why?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 27/01/2011 19:29

Thanks for suggestions so far, am liking Magpie, but DH says aparrently it's not a 'proper' name. Hmm

Any thoughts on spelling? Pi vs Pie/ Pai?

Anything you like! DD's name is eilidh but DH calls her pie sometimes as that's his nn for her. Can't actually think of a name that could be shortened to pie though.

WincyEtNightie · 27/01/2011 19:32

I like it with a silent F: Fpie

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 27/01/2011 19:33

Dh has suggested Pi-Mae after a film of some sort.

We have a Megan > Meg > Meg-pie > Pie, but she's a springer spaniel so she doesn't mind!

MarioandLuigi · 27/01/2011 19:41

Well our DD gets called PicklePie and she has a name that sounds mothing like it.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 27/01/2011 19:42

Not sure I understand the teddy comment? Confused

Thankyou for all the sensible suggestions Smile Will look up Pie Corbett, although I think I prefer the spelling Pai.

I used to know a cat that was Pie short for Magpie.

BrianAndHisBalls · 27/01/2011 19:43

pie-kay-a.

isnt that what non pc types call Ikea??

BrianAndHisBalls · 27/01/2011 19:44

What about going double barrelled - 'Louise-Pie' or 'Sharon-Pie' or 'Mabel-Pie'?

They have quite a nice ring and then she'd have a 'normal' fiorst name if she wanted to drop 'pie' at a later date??

goplayout · 27/01/2011 19:45

Just makes me think pie-faceShock

Please don't inflict this on your DD.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 27/01/2011 19:46

Honey-Pie is just twee, isn't it?
