Noisy hotel sex. Why?

Tiredthismorning · Today 12:50

Why do people have such noisy sex in hotels? I have just got home from a wedding yesterday, after which I stayed in a hotel. The couple in the next room had vocal sex at 2am and again at 8am. Proper shrieks and moans and grunts and words that I could hear through the wall from both of them, for a good half an hour both times.

Have your fun by all means. But why make so much noise?? I know hotel rooms are private but hotels aren't, especially not in the middle of the night.

AIBU to think it's no less selfish (and quite a bit more unreasonable) than keeping other guests up with music or any other noise. It's not the first time I've been kept awake like this.

IMO they are sickoes who get their jollies by making other people listening to their sex noises and filthy language. It is disgusting and should NOT be allowed in a respectable establishment.

See now you’ve just over egged it. Trolling shouldn’t be that obvious.

LlynTegid · Today 16:49

The correct response is either to applaud/cheer at the end, or make noises not quite synchronised.

You're gross and very inconsiderate. I have loads of hotel sex, due to a liking for short weekend trips away; I'd never be noisy, it's rude and other people's kids hearing is def unacceptable. Of course the odd noise might escape, but never half an hour of it 🤮

I'd complain. It could be people filming online porn - it's rife in premier inns.

Is it? In that case it's no wonder they've revoked their old guarantee of a good night's sleep. Might be one to avoid in future!

Every day's a school day.

So you don't mind other people's kids hearing it?

Based on many people on this thread, no, it seems like they’re more than fine with that scenario.

Maybe other people in the hotel are too! I wouldn't play music really loudly in a hotel room at night so why would anyone scream the house down during sex? By all means have sex, just do it quietly!

Just now and again, when you have adult children at home and you normally are as quiet and discreet as possible, it's great to be able to really let go. Buy yourself earplugs.

I don't understand how people can have totally silent sex. I don't mean not screaming the placr down but zero sound?

How? Just how?!

Kissing, lots of kissing, can never have enough!

Most people aren't completely silent obvs, just not so loud they can be heard constantly for a full 30mins - that's what we're discussing here, people who scream at the top of their voices like they're at a football match. OP wouldn't have been bothered if it was the odd muffled moan.

SerafinasGoose · Today 16:54

Cadeaukatze · Today 15:58

Agreed, it's just another example of our #noisemaxxing performative society.

Everyone has to hear what a great time they're having.

Yes - but.

Given nobody can see through walls then no one else would have the last idea who they are. So what would be the point in that?

I think many, many people are ruined from what is normal sex by watching too much porn TBH.

I’m confused as to how this is relevant to my comment TBH

I mean no one has to be noisy during sex, a lot of it is purely performative, I cringe when people scream the place down, and then say they can't help it Hmm like really? It's completely uncontrollable and involuntary?? I dont mean the odd noises or quiet noise but the ones who scream and shout so loud you can hear from miles away its clearly a choice to be that noisy 🤣 I get that a hotel people maybe shouldn't need to avoid being noisy but I think out of basic respect of others in the nearby rooms its reasonable to expect a bit of noise control Grin

Sounds like you've not met the one to give you those uncontrollable and involuntary noisy orgasms! 😉

Because it is terrible sex and their partner has a tiny pecker.

I kind of feel sorry for a lot of these women and wish that I could take them to see some of the delectable Turkish men I meet up with on holiday. I can guarentee these ladies will be singing like canaries! 😚

It's generally the city ones in certain areas. Sime have been known to be used by pristitutes, too. They swap the key cards between each other.

I'm almost ashamed to know this info 😅

Are you accidentally sounding like a man who’s wandered over from the sex topic, or…

I got astoundingly good oral sex from DH on Friday night followed by the same high quality shag I get at least a couple of times every week.

This is hands down the most hilariously unerotic description of sex I’ve ever heard. I’m picturing clipboards and stopwatches and a husband called Bernard being given a review after each session.

‘The oral sex was outstanding tonight Bernard, but your stroke game could do with some work. I refer you to sexual intercourse encounter document dated 13/01/23 where previous points for improvement were shared’

As to the usual ‘the world must revolve around my innocent children’ - given the many rules and regulations you have for how everyone else should behave in public, it would be much, much easier for you all to stay home and bore each other to death instead of inflicting your joyless ways on the rest of the world.

This is actually spot on apart from the fact that he's Barry not Bernard.

I once had to stand waiting for a lift with several other people while the room opposite were going at it, there was so little soundproofing you could hear his balls slapping. No one made eye contact the atmosphere was very awkward and when the lift arrived I’ve never seen so many people try to be first in! Do your thing but there’s no need to sound like you need an ambulance.

Snorting with laughter on a train about this one 😂

Good for you, but I can't be quiet during sex unless I consciously force myself to not make a noise, in which case I'm focusing on keeping quiet instead of relaxing and enjoying myself...which really takes away from the experience. So unfortunately, I think I've been guilty of loud sex in hotels myself.

I don't think "making a noise" is what OP is describing. There's a lot of space in between silence and screaming.

LBFseBrom · Today 17:08

That is not at all unusual; for hotels.

SmallDFartyCarNRG · Today 17:09

Are you all sure these noisy guests aren't just single men with the porn up loud?

Brightdark · Today 17:10

Also, possibly prostitutes and affairs. So a bit performative.

This or theyre filming porn. Can you make the Ryan air music sound as the plane lands when they coincentally achieve climax together!!

The Turkish man I had sex with, the sex was shit. Utterly focussed on his pleasure only. Honestly it was text book stereotype of sex with a man from a misogynistic culture. He seemed genuinely shocked that I had no interest in repeating the experience.

In a sense that's true enough. I won't get on a train, plane or enter a hotel without earplus and/or noise cancelling headphones.

As for trains, yes, I recognise exactly the scenario a PP mentions above: random man listening to porn, no headphones, as if that was a great thing to inflict on the entire coach. IME trains are rapidly becoming amongst the most antisocial spaces in the country.

Shagging couple (I'm reminded of Arabella Weir and Charlie Higson from the Fast Show) are probably a symptom of that anti-social behaviour, albeit I've sat and laughed at their antics myself. We might also have been guilty on one occasion. We are certainly not screamers, but once did get amorous in a small lake district inn. I'm not sure whether we were responsible, but 10 minutes later we heard the couple on the opposite side of the landing going at it hammer and tongs.

Inspired!
