Noisy hotel sex. Why?

Tiredthismorning · Today 12:50

Why do people have such noisy sex in hotels? I have just got home from a wedding yesterday, after which I stayed in a hotel. The couple in the next room had vocal sex at 2am and again at 8am. Proper shrieks and moans and grunts and words that I could hear through the wall from both of them, for a good half an hour both times.

Have your fun by all means. But why make so much noise?? I know hotel rooms are private but hotels aren't, especially not in the middle of the night.

AIBU to think it's no less selfish (and quite a bit more unreasonable) than keeping other guests up with music or any other noise. It's not the first time I've been kept awake like this.

YANBU - I had to endure being woken up by a pair of noisy selfish fuckers only to be doubly mortified that my 10 year dd was also lying awake hearing it as well. Thank god we woke for the climax and didn’t have to lie there suffering too much but it wasn’t nice.

It’s perverse to suggest that people should shrug it off or celebrate it or permanently clamp fecking ‘noise cancelling headphones’ to our heads. It’s selfish and inconsiderate behaviour. When other people are sleeping - keep it down ffs.

There were loud performative shaggers next to me in a hotel once. I put Barry Manilow singing "I wanna do it with you" on repeat very loudly and went out for a walk.

StarlightLady · Today 15:07

Are you sure it wasn’t someone watching a porn film with the volume turned up?

Greenseawitch · Today 15:07

Prostitute making sure the client gets his money worth?

Or they just enjoy being 'performative'...

Because noisy sex is best when in a hotel if you have kids at home

So you are OK with your kids listening to strangers having noisy sex when on holiday then?

whatanuglythingtosay · Today 15:07

Sex screams and 'romance' don't really go together in my mind.

Skyflier · Today 15:10

We normally have a bit less boring sex in hotel rooms but try not to be too noisy. Nothing worse than porn style noises

Edited for terrible typing

When I first got together with my ex (both still living with our former husbands) we used to book whatever Premier Inn was compatible with that weekend’s Thameslink schedule and go at it like the clappers. I think there is something about hotels (the anonymity, the distance from home and drudgery?) which has that effect.

And for anyone impressed by 30 minutes of shagging, may I recommend lesbianism?

Dontlletmedownbruce · Today 15:14

It's no different to singing loudly at 3am or playing music or (if you think screaming in an exception) screaming in horror because you found a hair or saw a spider, or yelling 'yes yes' at high volume when you pass a level on Candy crush. Its inconsiderate to make noise and is as valid a complaint as any other type of noise.

Nice to wake up other people.
Nice to have really loud sex when there are possibly kids sleeping.
Nice to put on a performance because you feel anonymous.
Nice to force other people to listen to you.

Nice eh?

That was a really sly edit.
In your unedited post you literally said it was nice to have really loud sex in hotels.

Because they can't get pissed and have proper noisy sessions at home??

Ha ha - quite.. live and let live, they're enjoying themselves, not harming anyone. Earplugs.

Random321 · Today 15:16

Bloody hell, I've heard it all now.

Of course the majority of adults saying in a hotel enjoy having sex. Tough shit, I don't particularly enjoy listening to little Noah listening Peppa Pig at high volume or a couple having a row about their inlaws but it sometimes happens.

I typically stay in adult only hotels to avoid the ridiculousness of some parents.

Whatever next - question on the booking form? Do you intend to have sex during your stay? Can you guarantee it will be silent?
Off to the East wing with you so.

They probably had to put up with kids being noisy tbh

Who honestly cares?!

People love to people-watch on holiday. If you draw attention to yourself in public in any way, people will comment. Not necessarily in a malicious or judgemental heavily invested way - just passing the time.

MerryAquaKoala · Today 15:18

Spot the noisy sex (twice!) couple over breakfast... Clue.. the happiest ones!

And you think having loud performative sex so that those kids can hear you is the way to go?

No, do you?

OldPyjamas · Today 15:21

Everybody knows hotels are for hookups and discreet sex without your partner being any the wiser

Doesn't discreet mean quiet, not wanting to draw attention, trying not to be noticed? It might be illicit sex but it's certainly not discreet.

EmailsaysOOO · Today 15:26

Kind of wish I was one of the people who think YBU but it would also annoy me OP. YANBU. Seems completely as if they're showing off. Wait til you're back in your own home pleasey.

Noisy full on sex at 2am and again at 8am? The lucky bastards 😂

Zov · Today 15:29

DebbieSavage · Today 15:04

I would just hate to be as puritan as you. Loud sex within earshot of someone with views like yours would be all the more sweeter, I can promise you that. If I heard someone having sex I would be extremely happy for them, you should try it some time. There is sooooo much more to romance than letting your two pump chump of a partner climb on top of you and huff and puff for all of two seconds while you think about the latest episode of Emmadale.

Actually ROFL! 😂

Your user profile is abit a giveaway lol. Their moans should inspire you i love a good banging. Maybe his dingler has become a dangler and she's having the time of her life. I would record the sounds and play it back when they are asleep 😊

I only book hotels with excellent sound proofing and always bring my noise cancelling headphones as backup.

People let their hair down in hotels - it's kinda the point. Also it's really hard for some people not to make noise during sex.

Sounds like you have a good sex life with a partner who prioritises your pleasure. Don't you ever have a blackout orgasm where you completely lose control? I try to be considerate but I've had moments where I'm just on another stratosphere and barely know who/what/where I am for a few mins.
