And technically, by the way, this "First-tier tribunal" is still within the ICO, so it is still internal. It's not off to the High Court is it ? We have already established the Tribunal has 2 cases per working day peak. So we can maybe say that is semantics ?

Also, I have no idea if these things are published or not. And with up to 500 cases a year, I would not be surprised if there is a limit to what is published.

The government is definitely bringing them in along with help from the French. There are numerous videos of the French escorting the boats over with recordings of conversations between the French ships and our rescue/taxi service boats. We even send the life jackets and dinghies back to France for re-use.

But most do not have the same culture as us and their opinion of women and girls is horrendous.

Means testing state pension (and ALL other benefits) at a relatively high level won't matter to the vast majority of pensioners who wouldn't be affected so the politicians enacting it would survive politically. Set it at the same £100k income level as free child care and tapering away of the personal allowance. Someone with an income of £100k doesn't "need" a state pension, free bus pass, or even carer's allowance/other disability benefits. £100k is enough! The number of OAPs affected won't make a dent in polling figures at the next GE. Then let fiscal drag pull in more pensioners as the years/decades pass giving younger people adequate time to plan for not having benefits in retirement if they have such a high income.

If a politician was brave, they could set means testing at the higher rate threshold of £50k instead. "Only" a million pensioners affected, which again, probably wouldn't dent the next GE polling figures.

Both very easy administratively as it could be managed by HMRC via SA tax returns as they already know who has incomes over £50k or £100k via their existing tax records.

Labour can only take it to another appeal on a point of law.

If they lose they’ll have to publish or will be in contempt of court, at which point the High court can order them to.

Because it is a benefit.
There are 2 categories of benefits. Contributory (you gain eligibility through paying enough NI contributions) and non contributory (paid dependent on specific circumstances regardless of what you've paid in)
The non contributory kind are usually means tested, so only paid if you have a financial need. (But not always, PIP being an example.)
Contributory benefits are not means tested as the principle is your contributions guarantee your right to them whether you 'need' them or not. SRP is in this category. Shifting the goal posts on this to make contributory benefits means tested would be a very big deal politically. I doubt any party would take the risk.

But you are stuck on the semantics of the ICO tribunal being a regular court of law.
