Am I being unreasonable?

My eldest has asked for access to Tik Tok recently, I dont particularly use this platform myself so we agreed that until mum scopes it out and takes a look we'll hang fire, im not sure. Im very cautious with settings and so far its only WhatsApp my child uses. Snapchat was a definite no!

Anyway, whilst checking it and looking at my own (blank) account that I dont use i saw i had followers, all new to me..... I click the link to see my Auntie on there with a very suggestive username. I click on it and was surprised at the content! No nudes images, but very suggestive, boob's galore 🫣 lets say shes a large blessed lady. But I certainly didn't expect to see my auntie in a school uniform on all fours 🤦‍♀️ or wobbling her assets.

My first thought was.... oh my gosh what if my kids saw this or there friends. Shes also invited and telling ppl in the videos to check her only fans.

I happened to message my mother to see if she knew anything about this, she too was alarmed, she then told my dad (her brother) who wasn't particularly happy. Anyway its now caused a big family drama, causing her and my dad to fall out. Not what I intended. Now im left feeling like its my fault. I do feel bad, shes a grown woman, I just think personality she could have had the decency to have been more private about all this. The comments from total strangers were alarming alone. No consideration for the teens in our family trying to navigate this crazy world, I think of the backlash it could cause and humiliation. I don't want them seeing there great aunt suckling on her finger or wearing pvc lingerie.
My cousin (her daughter) got in touch to say she was disappointed and disgusted in her uncles attitude towards her mum. When I asked if she'd seen or knew about her OF and tik tok she said no, ive always told her im not interested in her content but shes assured me that its all about positive body image for larger ladies. 🤦‍♀️ But my take is if you're staying in the dark you wont see the concern others have. Its a tricky one.

Like I said, shes a grown adult not my business, but as a mum I feel very protective about the lads/teens in our family and if they or there mates came across all this. Its all been blown up 😫 and that wasn't my intention. It was just a bit of a shock, shes my auntie too, my dad did jump and i felt i didn't have time to approach it myself and maybe ask her to adjust her settings. He flew in because he wasn't happy about it. 🤦‍♀️

A fetish post. 😳 im lost. Shes my Auntie??

Not sure how worrying about my familes kids seeing inappropriate posts from my Auntie is me having a fetish.

Clearly Im naive to all this, I not in this "modern world" .

Thank you all for the advice.

You are not 'in this modern world', yet you're young enough to have an aunt on OF. Sure. People aren't fooled, mate.

There IS a female KC on OF. She has a huge following.

What's a KC?

augustuss · 20/09/2026 11:24

You haven’t done anything wrong. The consequence of her family not being happy with her is very natural and follows from her choices. Which are wrong choices, btw. It’s wrong to have an OF account and wrong to promote on TikTok with explicit photos. Whatever happened to society that we can’t say this is wrong and pussyfoot around the issue and reframe as being free/ grown up/ not my business, etc. It’s immoral. I don’t like your aunt and wouldnt want to have anything to do with her.

I think you got all the sarcastic, doubting replies because of the time you posted. People need to remember not to post a reply if they think it’s not genuine and to simply report.

zingally · 20/09/2026 11:26

"Like I said, she's a grown adult not my business" - then proceeds to immediately tell her mother.

I'd file this away in my brain as "never saw it".

🤣 of course ..I read it a few times and stupidly didnt get that. Thank you.

nomas · 20/09/2026 12:27

Same my sunts are all 80+

Mine are in their 60s. One has just turned 60. Actually I've got one who is in her early 50s.

DoraSpenlow · 20/09/2026 13:37

I think you were right to alert the rest of the family. If it was a relative of mine doing this I would much rather be told by another family member than to be completely blindsided by a neighbour or someone coming up to me and saying I see your aunt/sister/ cousin is getting her tits out for the lads. Forewarned is forearmed.

Is this your business if you can’t improve the situation Live and let live maybe the lesson you need to learn is when to be discrete

MyPeachScroller · 20/09/2026 18:13

I don't understand. Did you go onto her OnlyFans account? Or is she putting up TikTok videos as a way to funnel business to her OF account? Plus she found your (unused) TikTok account and started following you? And that's how you found them? Regardless, sounds like she's trying to make some money.
She's allowed to post whatever she wants; she's an adult. She may not fully understand how it all works, as in privacy settings etc but that's her problem.
I understand your concern is that your children may come across these. Is your concern that it's a family member or is it the sexual nature? While you think they've not seen anything like this, chances are they've already seen far worse via their friends.
And agreed, you should have gone directly to your aunt.
In addition, sounds like you had some discomfort / ick factor with her body size and doing this? Trust me, there are a lot of men who pay good money for that.

CCb85 · 20/09/2026 05:46

Thank you, I guess without all the details its hard to see the whole picture.
Im genuinely sad its caused my dad and her to fall out, that what im worried about. Im limited to who I can talk to about it because i dont want to "gossip" as its been said.

She its in her late 60s and vulnerable and yes im all for celebrating body confidence, but shes not well and I don't want ppl taking advantage of her or giving her abuse/made fun of. And yes as I keep saying, im protective over what my kids see, I didn't want them to see there great aunt like this.
I just wish I my mum hadn't told my dad, I spoke to her in confidence and shes made it awkward. But, I know her intentions are of concern too.

My title to this thread should have been something like " im worried ive upset my family". Its very late, im tired, im just stressing about it. Im not thinking straight.

If you were worried about her and such things as privacy settings why didn’t you approach her directly rather than outing her to the entire family ?

independentfriend · 20/09/2026 18:23

It would have been much better to talk about the situation with a work colleague or friend who doesn't know your aunt so couldn't have broken your confidence in the way your mum did. You can anonymise in conversation too.

What you say to your kids is some variation of:
*OnlyFans isn't for under 18s
*Some family members may not accept your friend / follower requests because they use social media for sexual content - doesn't mean you've done anything wrong. Sometimes people don't have child relatives as contacts and they'll add you when you're an adult. Sometimes people exclude birth family members of any age from some of all of their content.
*If family members are posting stuff you don't like seeing you can mute them like anyone else.
*Great Aunt X is known to use OF and you'll probably find her tiktok cringey or worse.

Merida46 · 20/09/2026 18:35

You should have spoken to your auntie first instead of blabbing to all the family!

BusyExpert · 20/09/2026 18:56

She is on a public forum so there is absolutely no need for you to feel bad. Personally if I had found a curva ceous aunt displaying her wares on social media I would still be laughing

Zerosleep · 20/09/2026 18:56

Basically, you have interfered in something that has got sweet FA to do with you, caused a load of problems by being totally judgmental and now you’re on here so we can all make you feel much better about the fact you caused a load of trouble because we should all follow your beliefs and be disgusted about it. Does that capture it? I would suggest you mind your own business.

August1980 · 20/09/2026 19:00

Very judgemental from post/troublesome from someone who can’t even spell. Perhaps less tik tok and more time with books for you and your children OP!

maxslice · 20/09/2026 19:07

I’d be more concerned if my kids were looking at OF, no matter who was on it. I’d be very surprised to see my aunt there, but it’s not my business. I certainly wouldn’t go around telling everyone and then be ridiculously naively assume it wouldn’t cause trouble. Yes, OP, the fallout IS your fault.

maxslice · 20/09/2026 19:14

Well, if your children weren’t aware of this before, I bet they sure as hell are now. And chances are, they’ll try to check it out. Good job protecting your kids, nimrod.

maxslice · 20/09/2026 19:16

CCb85 · 20/09/2026 05:10

Perhaps its worth mentioning that she seems to attract strange men as partners. One tried to strangle her with her sleep machine 🤦‍♀️ another threw a lamp at her in a hotel room. We do worry about her.

Then talk to her privately, directly. You blew it.

Sueandthegoldfish · 20/09/2026 19:19

I’d have kept quiet and had a private word at an opportune moment to suggest she ups her privacy settings.

maxslice · 20/09/2026 19:23

CCb85 · 20/09/2026 06:28

Yeh, well they must know, wonder if their wives do too 🤦‍♀️ Im just unsettled about it all, but then again im not very worldly with all these apps and dating apps... hence why ive told my kid i'd look at tik tok before I said yes to him opening an account. I had zero idea she was on there or that she had OF. Small part of me at the time just thought that this very open choice shes made had zero regard to her family that live around her. Shes savvy enough to make the videosand upload them but didn't think about the privacy aspect or repercussions, shes bold and confident. I guess part of her seemed like she didn't care and that I guess might have rattled me.
Shes a grown woman, I get it. Ots her buisness. I just feel a level of respect for the family is needed.

Consider respecting a family member’s privacy and speaking only to them if you have a concern about their choices.
