AIBU to oppose housing 1,000 undocumented young men near Piddington?

1000 replies

PiddingtonFan · 16/09/2026 09:38

We dont need anymore undocumented young males.

1000 proposed to be housed near Piddington. Young males from a different culture.

AIBU to agree with them. Enough undocumented males. Too many males overwhelming a small population. 😪

So the video isn't real because its on X?

If the guradian ran the video you would believe it?

🤨

The video is on many different platforms.

3 men stood there and all 3 agreed that witches must be killed.

Women are constantly having 'heart attacks' on the way over.

Can you not see that these men are not safe for women??

Their culture dictates a male hierarchy over women to the point women must cover themselves.

They will not integrate or assimilate they will dominate.

If they aren't safe to be around then how do you explain the thousands of wonderful young women working for human aid organisations like Care 4 Calais who work intimately with the people on the beaches in France?

I think several posters on this thread might just be ragebaiting Hmm

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 16/09/2026 10:28

We used to have a brilliant system for finding out who people were when they came to the UK, helping us to process applications without all this difficulty, and to send people back to safe countries they had passed through.

What was it called again?

and quite amusingly. Love a bit of parody

They don't 'have to be housed somewhere'. If they are genuinely seeking asylum they should keep their documents to hand, not throw them away as many do. We taxpayers have no obligation to house people who cannot prove their identity.

Yes, we do.

Some people do destroy their documents, but a lot don’t have them to start with. You think Eritrea is issuing travel documents? Come on.

Dollymylove · 16/09/2026 10:30

Rollingpinofdoom · 16/09/2026 09:52

But I bet if it didn’t affect piddington they’d be joining the “all welcome here” marches and condemning anyone saying we had an immigration problem.

Perhaps having 1000s of young men from cultures who treat women like property, being dumped in their back yard might concentrate their minds a little. Especially when their daughters are being followed and intimidated.
Its all fun and games innit until they are dropped upon tiny villages and outnumber the resident by 5 to 1.
York MP Rachel "refugees welcome" Maskell has gone down the same road. The hypocrisy is off the scale with these gormless idiots!!

Hoardasurass · 16/09/2026 10:30

Rollingpinofdoom · 16/09/2026 09:57

Why would it be a joke? Where do you want refugees to be housed? Surely fresh air and open countryside will be beneficial to them? Would the people of Piddington be so up in arms if the refugees were put somewhere like Milton Keynes?

They are not refugees nor true asylum seekers, they are infact economic migrants who have travelled through multiple safe countries before arriving in the UK.
Where would I house these men why thats simple id return them to their own countries on arrival so no asylum claims, no housing or free NHS treatment just take them off the boats check their id where possible with fingerprints etc and where not genetic ancestry and strontium isotope test and then fly them back to their country of origin.
The worst thing starmer did was revoke the immigration act that prevented these men from claiming asylum.

Anonyanonay · 16/09/2026 10:31

Two things to bear in mind. A recent whistleblower estimated the number of genuine asylum claims to be just 1 in 100. Only 1% of those men have genuine reasons for being in Piddington. Also true, since 2018 only around 4% of boat arrivals have been returned to their country of origin.

That's an awful lot of undocumented chancers being poured into a small village.

Mountainpika · 16/09/2026 09:49

Go ahead. Close your borders. Surround yourselves with walls and barbed wire. Typecast anyone from a different culture. Live in your cosy bubble, uncaring about anyone else. But don't expect any help from the rest of us. Sort out your own schools, healthcare, power supplies, water etc..

I hope you get 3000 men near your school and home. You could also offer some accomodation in your own home - you are clearly deeply concerned about them.

Lilypad34 · 16/09/2026 10:32

Everyone that doesn’t have an issue with undocumented men coming into the country illegally, no women and children just men should really step up and offer them a spare room, that would solve the issue. But then, 99.9% would say ‘oh I would if I had room’ ‘I rent so I can’t’ ‘I wish I could but xyz excuse’ if you don’t mind it, you have them in your home and let the gov pay you for renting out your room. Problem solved..right?

Asylum seekers have an income of £10 per day. It's possible some bad faith actor could offer then £50 to say some convenient things.

Strange that the asylum seeker would start volunteering information about so-called witches. Look at how the questions segue from what he does during the day to tying up witches, it doesn't ring true.

You know these men have often come from wartorn countries and faced the kind of oppression that people like us can only dream of right? I don't think anyone can blame them for letting their hair down and enjoying themselves for once in their darn lives, they aren't hurting anyone why can't you just live and let live?

for once in their darn lives, they aren't hurting anyone why can't you just live and let live?

Oh the IRONY! If these men are blaring music from midnight until 5am, whilst living alongside people who have to be up at 6am for work, they aren't "living and let live" so why the FUCK should the indigenous population be expected to?

I want homeless people to be given a room. Are you offering up your room for homeless people?

Switchnow · 16/09/2026 10:36

backformoreofthesame · 16/09/2026 10:15

I wonder what kind of documentation is available to people in war torn countries ?

when people have lost everything / does that mean everything apart form their passport and birth certificate?

is the claim that none of these people have any documents actually true ?

About 2% of small boats often arrivals have passports. There’s some evidence that traffickers encourage people to destroy their documents, but the main countries or origin - Eritrea, Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iran - are countries where passport possession is very low to begin with, so it’s not certain how many would have had documents.

A larger proportion of asylum claims are from people who travelled legally - work or student visas or holidays - and then claimed asylum.

I wouldn't give a room to a refugee or a homeless person. It would bite you on the arse so badly.

I would happily offer up my spare room for asylum seekers but I have a dog that needs it and is jumpy around people she's not comfortable with so it's just not possible sadly.

Just because we can't personally house people doesn't mean we can't advocate for finding somehere suitable for them to stay.

Cheese55 · 16/09/2026 10:36

Switchnow · 16/09/2026 10:23

What is your solution then? Where should these men be housed while waiting for decisions on their asylum applications, 70% of which will be approved?

70% will be approved because some of them can't be sent back anywhere, because they dont 'know' where they are from. 70% will be approved because it is cheaper to not have to house them. 70% will be approved because they are in a relationship / have a new baby. 70% will be approved because they have children here in education. It's often not because of needing refuge.

LBFseBrom · 16/09/2026 10:37

This was already posted recently on Mumsnet. Facebook is full of it ! People want armed guards and barbed wire around the place.

All I can say is there is a hotel a couple of streets away from me, near the high street, which housed people like the ones in question for a couple of years. Many of us never knew until there was a notice in the local paper that the people had been relocated and the hotel was back to business as usual.

During the time they were there, the 'boat people' were free to come and go as they pleased, a few of them found some casual, part time work, they caused no trouble and there was no increase in asb or crime.

There's no point worrying in advance, don't believe everything you read in the media and if there is a public protest, that is bound to stir up trouble.

Most of these folk will be relieved to be here and keep their heads down.

Not even - £49 per week if in self catering accommodation, £9 a week if meals are provided.

That’s why illegal working is so attractive and plenty of UK employers are happy to exploit that.

Have you heard of ear defenders? And its not like adults in this country don't listen to music loud at night anyway, so no idea why you are targeting them specifically.

I am not a resident of Piddington but if I was I would have no problem with it. Immigration has always brought culture and breathed new life into our stale neighbourhoods. New food, new traditions to celebrate, new wonderful languages to be introduced to. What's not to like?

The assaults on women and children by men who regard them as worthless. The undercutting of the working class. The illegal gang economies. The boost to an abhorrently misogynistic religion. The net negative tax contribution across their lifetime if they're from Menapt countries. The gradual erosion of our own culture and values. Having to put up with insufferable idiots telling us how wonderful it all is as we slowly sink into degradation and chaos.

Agreed! We have a fucking Navy that could be patrolling the channel - WHERE ARE THEY? Don't let anyone ashore. Australia did this and it worked very well.

ExtraOnions · 16/09/2026 10:04

Where do you suggest we put them ?

Not a HMO (flag wavers have done away with those)
Not hotels (flag wavers tried to burn those down)
Not near schools (as they are all sex offenders)
Not in City Centres (large groups makes women uncomfortable)

We aren’t going to build anywhere, it would take too long and be too expensive. Reusing vacant government owned buildings seems to make sense.

So where do they go ?

In basic accommodation with basic food and water and detained until we are 100% certain of who they are. The issue is not them being in the military base. The issue is with them being free to roam.

They are welcome to return forth where they came from.

Stop putting their wellbeing above British people. It's not difficult.

Hoardasurass · 16/09/2026 10:39

DebbieSavage · 16/09/2026 09:57

Sanitation, healthcare, tourism, leisure and entertainment. Basically all the jobs most Brits think they are too good to do.

I can guarantee these men will work hard for your community, but you just need to give them a chance instead of villifying them. Welcome them to your home, get to know them. Anyone can bond over a lovely cup of tea and a biscuit. The world isn't as scary as the right wing want you to believe.

Those jobs dont exist in or around piddington and even if they did these are undocumented asylum seekers (ie have no legal right to remain as their claims haven't been possessed) who have no right to work so can't do any job. These men will then be turfed out of the asylum base the moment they are granted leave to remain, where will they go then and where will they live as theres no houses for them anywhere near.
Also these men dont speak English in most cases and dont understand the culture and even the government recognises that the way they treat women and girls is so problematic that they produced a leaflet telling them not to harass, sexually harass, sexually assault or rape women.
This camp is a vawg disaster waiting to happen

MandingoAteMyBaby · 16/09/2026 10:40

The best thing we could do is join Schengen.

We don’t need to be in the EU for that, so Brexit people don’t need to get riled up.

But it means “undocumented” is replaced by tracking from point of entry in the Med, fingerprints, application history elsewhere.

And we should give them jobs, idle hands etc…
