All you want to do is post articles from the Sun, the Fail or other gutter press. As if the actions of an individual can characterise a whole culture. What a disgraceful way to think.
There is a passage in Mein Kampf - where Jewish men are being characterised as sexual predators to be feared and losthed. Of course a few particular incidents and images are used as evidence to whip up hatred for all Jews as sexual deviants snd predators. The dispossessed and despised post war German needed someone to despise more.
The KKK employed similar tactics - trying to scare people into believing all black men were, by dint of their very nature and culture, animalistic sexual predators. Of course they could always find some that were (because sexual predators exist in any group of men). But they exploited those examples as propaganda to characterise all black men.
Do these tactics resonate with some people in this thread? Because they should do.

You don't need to point out what goes on in places like Afghanistan. Anybody in their right mind is beyond appalled at the treatment of women.
Being born in a country does not mean you agree with the regime or what goes on. The majority of normal people in Afghanistan despise the Taliban and live in terror. Why would you flee if you identified as a key member of the Taliban 'establishment?'
In any group of 1000 men there will be some that are potentially dangerous. That is men - I don't care where they come from. In that group of 1000 there will also (obviously) be men who are gay, bisexual, traumatised, bewildered, highly motivated to seek a better life, mentally ill, highly intelligent, decent, kind, not so kind - the full spectrum of human men basically.
To characterise any ethnic or cultural group by the actions of a small minority is the very definition of racism. It was the Nazi playbook. It was the KKK plsybook. And it's happening again. And sadly, as this thread demonstrates, too many are swallowing the latest Far Right propaganda tactics hook, line and sinker. It is shameful. Like the beast of Britain has rolled over and revealed a very nasty underbelly that was always there, just dormant. Now racism is being emboldened. The RNLI are being attacked for not letting some of the most desperate people in the world drown off our coasts. Is this your Britain? It's not mine. We are better than this - or so I thought.
Anyone is entitled to not agree with aspects of Islamic culture or any other culture. We should all become much more aware of the horrors going on in Afghanistan, Iran and other countries. And yes, a sensible debate is needed about immigration policy.
However, you are NOT entitled to define any culture, nation or religion by the actions of a few. Learn the lessons of the past.
