I’ve said a humanitarian visa system would be better. It allows vetting and control over numbers. It takes a lot of the strain out. If we vetted as much as Aus or Ukrainian people on a humanitarian visa then it’d help.

But stalling to do this just means the window for the public to accept say 20k each year reduces. Because people feel gaslit and attacked with various far right lines.

Which is baffling, because the left wing movements throughout history have been driven by and for working class people so I can only assume the people who believe that are neither left wing nor working class. The fact is it doesn’t matter whether people who any migrant housing near them or not, places are not being selected for their popularity or the wealth or class of the surrounding area. It’s only about available land/buildings.

Why do we assume the men will be going to go to Piddington? The Home Office documents don’t.

The main site entrance is oriented towards Arncott, not Piddington. The southern entrance is only about 50m from the road that leads directly into Arncott and there is no pedestrian route from the site towards Piddington. The nearest Piddington public footpath doesn’t reach the site. So it’s possible but far from the only possibility. Arncott has 1660 people. are they part of the protest?

It’s much better to have the resources to do strict checks. It’s possible with a visa not asylum. You get to decide who to give the visa too and can put a higher bar on safeguarding.

It is far better than waiting for a Brighton, Belfast, Rhiannon, elderly man, boy victim and saying oh no.

Use vetting not people to figure it out.

And many will of never even been reported because people have no faith in the police or justice.

Or they just fear payback from the person or community of people who committed the crime.

Or shame themselves for a crime happening to them in plently of woman’s cases.
