Autistic men are disproportionately likely to be in a whole host of extremist and dangerous movements. BeIng autistic is certainly not evidence of innocence of anything.

I cant buy the argument he was like the boy who never grew up, and was like a child himself....

He was an adult man surrounding himself with, being "best friends" with and sleeping with unrelated pre pubescent boys. If this was literally any other man - your neighbour, your BIL, your kids scout leader , no one would shrug and say, "oh bless, he loves kids, hes just like a 10 year old himself" or think it was fine because the person in question had an abusive childhood.

They would think it was wrong, and inappropriate on every level. Because it is.

Yes agree, but the autistic traits of having different social wants/behaviours are relevant in the argument that he enjoyed the company of children and animals over adults.

I can no longer listen to his music, no matter how good it might be, because I believe the accusations that were made against him.

Nor would I pay to see the recent film about his life in the cinema.

People like to delude themselves with 'nothing was proven' although he paid millions out of court to alleged victims.

His music still makes a lot of money for record companies, his family and so on so a lot of people have a vested interest in keeping that going and trying to pretend nothing was wrong with him...

He especially liked being around aesthetically pleasing boys aged 7-13.

No girls for sleepovers.
No younger boys.
No older boys.
No siblings pairs.

You seem to have misunderstood what you were saying. You were using him being autistic to say he was an innocent and not an abuser. I was responding to that utterly false logic.

Rock and Roll Part 1 is an absolute banger! For me it's entirely dependent on whether I like the music. I don't necessarily play it at home or own it, but will dance or sing along to it if it's played. Nothing is cancelled or censored in my house. We don't smash albums and we don't burn books. We certainly don't tell others what they should or should not listen to, read or look at. When there's only one 'correct' opinion then ideas, art, science and human progression and development stagnates and dies. "I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin." It's messier and people will get hurt, but better than a world with 'wrong think'.

His family benefit. His family are culpable in his crimes - they knew what he was doing, he was warned about his behaviour several times. They defended him because he was breadwinner for the entire family - mum, dad, his adult siblings and dozens of nephews and nieces.

Listening to his songs, impressionists and going to the musical is actively contributing to the “he wasn’t convicted, his accusers lied before, his accusers were gold diggers’ narrative which in turn contributes to current victims of powerful predators being not believed. You don’t care about the 10-15 young men who e had their lives ruined, fine. But do you not care at all about children in 2026, faced with powerful and well-liked abusers, knowing they won’t believed?

i can’t believe the naivety here. He knew was he was doing. He painted himself as innocent and childlike and chose poor, badly educated victims on purpose.

I was having this conversation with my husband the other day. We both agree that it is shocking he has not been cancelled!! He was a horrible human being and people get cancelled for a lot less than people are claiming he did. He wasn’t found guilty because he paid people off!

If you were a ‘specialist’ you would know that an autism assessment takes hours and involves multidisciplinary assessments by different clinicians who must all agree.

You sound like you watched the white wash propaganda film and decided ‘oh dear the poor thing was autistic’.

Exactly he bought houses and cars for the victims families. The children didn’t think it was abuse because they believed they were in love with him. I can’t even imagine trying to reconcile that as an adult.

I find I feel differently about his music depending on his age and the likelihood of him being an abuser when he performed it.
This conveniently allows me to listen to The Jackson's and Thriller, but nothing much beyond that.

Jimmy Saville case is very different as there was an 'inquiry' and literally hundreds of victims and witnesses came forward and Jimmy's case never went to court while he was alive. MJ was investigated while he was still alive for years and was found not guilty on all counts.

No proof whatsoever that he was autistic.
