Maybe we shouldn't cancel those dead and can't defend themselves. What about those alive and spreading their hate and killing innocent people - Trump, Netanyahu and countless others. They have destroyed more lives than anyone in modern history. They are the ones who should be cancelled.

Oh gosh l feel a bit sick now seeing these. Crazy how these things are covered up, even the Epstein files, if someone has committed a crime and there is evidence then there should be no reason to hold back information, especially when it is the government sealing the information, like the Rochdale cover up.

I don’t understand the ‘he’s not a Saville’ arguement. In both cases, people have testified what has gone on. In the court of law, you only need one victim although more obviously helps to build a case. Yes, there is more evidence against Saville, but that doesn’t negate the fact that there is evidence against MJ.

I hold on to my opinion that Michael was a disgusting piece of humanity. If folk like his ridiculous persona and naff music and can ignore the fact he abused children it shouldn't be cancelled, it's part of musical history.

Got to admit that I cheered Jarvis Cocker mooning at him singing in his Christ like figure pose surrounded by children dressed in rags. Considering what he was at it was truly disgusting.

I dont think he was a terrible person. He was deeply damaged by his awful parents - his body dysmorphia stemmed from that, as well as other issues. He did have a weird relationship with children but we will never know what exactly went on.

Re his music - well, some people hate Queen, Abba, The Beatles... You do you. I wonder what kind of music is not naff? Just out of curiosity.

People can only ignore the fact that he abused children because it’s not publicly acknowledged and there has never been a full investigation like there was with Savile.

If his crimes were fully acknowledged people would stop listening to him naturally.

I dont think you should compare anyone to Saville - that man is in the league of his own. He raped children, old people, dead people - he was gross, violent and completely perverted.

That’s okay then. He may not be a terrible person, so that excuses any allegations against him. A get out of jail card. Jimmy Saville raised thousands of pounds for charity, and yet… .

It's fascinating to me

I think when folk are such huge fans they come to idolise the person, and to have to admit that not only were thay not perfect like every one of us, but to have to admit that they did something so horrible takes something away from them. So they close their eyes and ears and turn themselves in knots to make every excuse.

It's not that we are defending him. It's that we believe he is innocent until proven otherwise. If there was a credible witness or victim that proves otherwise then I would change my view. Unt then innocent until proven guilty.

You are forgetting that Savills crimes were not "allegations", there were thousands of witnesses. With MJ, none of his accusations were turned into actual convictions, even now, after his death.

Edited: so while you at it, you need to stop listening to David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chilly Peppers, Aerosmith - for starters.

I think if the court case was now, he would be viewed differently.
