To be hurt that I was called racist over trivial parking incident?

I was looking for a space in a full car park next to a row of shops. I spotted two spaces together; one disabled and one not.

I have a large car so parking next to a disabled spot is ideal for me as there's extra door width - I'm quite sturdy.

There was a man with a walking stick standing behind the car in the disabled spot next to the disabled spot.

He saw me signalling and moved across to the empty disabled spot and stuck his stick out to block the spot. Confused

I just carried on parking in the empty normal spot got out, locked up and he said quite aggressively 'you shouldn't be parking in the disabled spot' I looked back at my car and said "I wasn't" you weirdo

Then someone else came over and signaled to pull and he didn't stop them. I said "why didn't you stop her?""She's my sister"

So obviously he was saving the space for her.

I just rolled my eyes and walked off.

He shouted after me "Racist cow".

I'm still smarting after a few hours.

It was unwise to prolong the interaction by trying to score this point. Of course, that doesn't make you a racist.

There was no racism in your explanation, that can be ignored. I am cross on your behalf that someone was bagging a space for their family - and he was waving his walking stick. I find that so annoying

I suppose you do know that accessible spaces are bigger because the people that need them need more space to get out of their car. It is impossible to get my DM from the car without a big space. In fact I wish that more of the accessible spaces were not placed beside front entrances. Once in a wheelchair I can push my Mum. Spaces near the front door seem to be more likely to be nabbed by people who don’t need them.

My baby was called a ‘racist baby’ when he was in a trolley, because a random black man pulled a weird face at him and he just stared wide eyed 🤣 instead of laughing or whatever reaction the man was expecting.

Somebody shouted at me today for walking into them when I was nowhere near them. Some people are just unpleasant and rude. That’s a horrible insult you got for nothing. Just pity him and his tragic life.

Anyway, apparently im racist too. I objected to someone's socked foot coming through the gap in the aeroplane seats, and resting on the arm between me and DS2..... strangely enough I didn't know what skin color was under the white sports sock!

Im black and cringe at the amount of times I hear the R word is used.

The media do it, press do it, for nothing rather than people expecting the laws of the land are upheld and respected so, when these morons use the racism excuse for every little thing, I know we are lost.

I didn't call him a weirdo, though he absolutely was one, telling me not to park somewhere I wasn't going to park.

Although, he shouldn't have been stopping me parking in a disabled spot IF that's where I was intending to park; how on earth did he know whether or not I had a Blue Badge?

That's why he said it. Like a pathetic man shouts "Your fat and it was a joke" when you won't give him your number.
I am deaf and have a mixed race family. I was never accused of racism until 2020 but now it is a regular occurrence.
"I am sorry could you speak a bit louder I am deaf" is what usually prompts it. None white DH and DC explode but I just shrug and walk off because I don't give a fuck, frankly. I know I am not racist, and don't care what they think.
