Cancelled on friend due to illness, she wasn't happy

I was meant to travel to see a friend for the day about 1.5 hours away. I rarely get ill touch wood, but typically I got a sickness bug the day before I was meant to meet her! I was being sick multiple times, no appetite and felt weak, like my limbs were stiff and I couldn't walk much.
I had to cancel sadly, there was no way I could travel in that state. I hate doing this but I had no choice, and I told her I could do the next couple of weekends so that she knew I still really wanted to see her.

She was cold in her reply and didn't agree to the other weekend, so unfortunately I think she thought I was lying/couldn't be bothered. I've never done that to her before so it's not like I've got form for it. I asked another friend for advice and she said "Yeah I can completely see why she's pissed off."

If i kept cancelling I could see that, but it was my only time. Sadly they think I was lying, there's not much I can do. Was I supposed to go and throw up on her? Do feel bad but unsure what else to do.

I sent something similar to a friend just a couple of days ago when she cancelled. I was in the middle of doing something else when I got here message. I sent a follow up the next day when I realised it might have come across as rather blunt. I wouldn't read too much into it for now.

I would understand her being disappointed that you couldn’t meet up, I can’t understand why your friends would suggest she’d be pissed off though. It’s not like you chose to be throwing up, it can’t be helped

Unfortunately, people get sick. But by the same token, your friend is allowed to feel disappointed. Likely she'd been looking forward to this visit, and it's now not going ahead. I think being a bit cool in her response is to be expected.

It's just one of those things.

People get sick. Maybe a follow up text next week are you free any evening. If she being flaky just leave it at that
