What happens with "trans" people at airports?

Training indicates that unless female security staff consent to search travellers with male bodies they can’t be employed?

I have never once had a person ask where hurts when ive been checked as a wheelchair user. Im not a frequent traveller but did a cruise not too long ago and that involved security several times. Ive never been asked if its ok if it was a guy either, just did it.

I never even realised they would ask about my health honestly they just get on with it

What guidance? I should imagine that in Turkey it would be a sex based system.

I’ve never been searched upon entry to the UK - I’ve never even been stopped! Maybe it’s different if you don’t hold a British passport.

I imagine in a Muslim country you will be searched by a person of the same biological sex as you. Lots of LGBTQ / trans people chose not to travel to specific countries based on stuff like this.

I don't think you can complain aboit a countires human rights / trans agenda if you've chosen to go there, with all the information available online.

As far as I remember you dont get patted on your privates so I cant see that the issue is?

I doubt that people who do the searches care.You wouldn't do that job if you find searching people of the opposite gender traumatic. Would you expect a female health care professional to refuse to treat a man?

You don’t understand that a trans woman could be interested in a woman in a sexual way?

Or that someone who has previously been sexually abused may not be comfortable with what is essentially a man dressed as a woman searching them?

The job is to search whoever needs searching. If they take the job they have agreed to do that.

I can’t say for sure but we also flew around the time of the shoe bomber and suddenly within about a days notice we were only allowed to fly with a zip lock bag containing a couple of bits like our passports and wallet.
Nothing else was allowed on the plane with you. We were going to the US and it was extremely strict. No snacks no magazines no personal stuff, nothing.

Or that may have been after the liquid bomb plot too.. we seemed to have a habit of flying soon after these events!

Any sort of liquids, pastes, etc ( including lipsticks/lipsalves) were not allowed. Still not allowed in some countries.

Well it’s by case by case. IF someone refuses to search a passenger of the opposite “gender” then it may be construed as failing to complete your duties. Ime it’s never gone that far. BUT it may do.
airports outside of the U.K. are obvs governed by their own legislation.

I have Trans friends. I don't know any who would choose Turkey for a holiday. Like in the days when HIV was a stigma, you'd choose holiday destinations based on how you are accepted. It's the same for many gay men, still. They can carry their original birth certificate, it depends where they are, appearance wise. It depends on if you've legally changed your name etc. You can inform your booking company under 'assistance/special circumstances' they'll handle passing on information. In a Muslim country you often have the same sex pat down. Guards at non Muslim airports have to do both sexes, anyway. So in other countries, they'll try to accommodate your wishes, but don't have to. It's less of an inconvenience to just get you through, so same gender, or private room.

It's classified as a iiquid so needs to be in the clear plastic bag. Although in error I have walked through with one in my pocket and not been stopped!

Never take wet wipes in your hand luggage - apparently they look really dodgy on the scanning screen! I've been pulled up twice due to wet wipes (but not make up remover wipes... idk)

Not the best argument though as people can be attracted to all sexes/genders. How do you get around a lesbian searching a female??

OP why did you put trans in quotation marks?

There are probably men who would love to be searched by men too. I would think the people doing the searches realise that but if it bothered them that much they would do a different job.

You can ask for an actual woman you probably would need to go down the "assigned female at birth" route but you do have protections.

Yeah and that’s the thing - there’s not time to stop and answer an interview about your preferences, identity, kinks and what not to make sure you have the preferred human doing a safety search. And then the same for searcher! Lots of people have to see/touch bodies of the opposite sex as part of their jobs. They just get on with it.

The poster I was responding to seem to think it's impossible for trans identitfying men to fancy women. The idea that all transwomen are gay is a lie. One of the reasons some women are prepared to tolerate men in female spaces is because they have swallowed this lie (along with cross sex hormones mean they can't get aroused and so called 'bottom surgery' being either very common or a requirement to be regarded as a TW when it is in fact pretty rare).
Plenty of people believe transwoman equals castrated gay man but it doesn't, it equals any man who says they are trans.
More importantly you are correct, it has nothing to do with the person touching you being attracted to you. Lots of women just don't want to be touched by a strange man, whether the man is getting a kick from it or not.

Why is it ‘trans bashing’?

My passport states 'sex - F' for female so I'm assuming all passports do. I presume you have to go with the sex declared on your legal document. I would think on the other side of it, this job is inappropriate for a trans person whichever way they are because of the complications it causes
