AIBU to be deeply concerned about the recent influx of 30k+ undocumented arrivals in Spain?

AIBU to feel really unsettled by the recent news coming out of Spain and Ceuta? Reports are showing that tens of thousands of undocumented migrants have crossed over in such a short window, completely overwhelming local infrastructure, reception centers, and security forces.

I know migration is always a sensitive and compassionate topic, but looking at these numbers practically, I don't see how any European border region can absorb 30,000 to 50,000 arrivals almost overnight without severe strain on public resources, local housing, and emergency services.

What worries me even more is the precedent it sets for the rest of Europe and the UK down the line. Surely there has to be a firm balance between humanitarian support and actual, enforceable border control?

Am I being completely unreasonable to view this as a serious policy and security crisis, or are others feeling equally concerned about where this leads?

Would love to hear honest thoughts on how this should actually be handled!

We have a large Sudanese population where I live. Where is this abuse of women and so on?
They seem like people to me.

Definitely Switzerland if it was my DD

Obviously! Almost as if the men of Switzerland are different to the men of Sudan?

Flyingintotheunknown · 01/08/2026 20:23

ShautyMels · 01/08/2026 20:21

Where would someone rather their DD go on holiday, Switzerland or Sudan?

You wonder who or what is behind it? Mass migration from 3rd world countries who treat women as inferior citizens. Did you really need to ask?

It's a huge mess. What is behind it all I wonder or who?

It’s uncomfortable but true that men from countries like Afghanistan and Syria are way more likely to commit crimes of sexual violence. Look at the statistics from places like Sweden and Germany. The facts very much back up these opinions.

Well they'll just ignore this

MaturingCheeseball · 01/08/2026 20:13

But still that poster will maintain that they would feel safer by themselves in a migrant detention centre than in, say, a golf club bar in Guilford.

Greenleavesandsunshine · 01/08/2026 20:08

bafta16 · 01/08/2026 20:02

That's so silly it's laughable.

I think that the world is so unequal that people swarm to where they think it is better. Unless we resolve that, we are going to see a lot of this sort of thing.

It’s not our job to fix the world for everyone that’s impossible

ShautyMels · 01/08/2026 20:06

Climate change is the reason we need to flee - what about all the European wildfires then? No climate change?

Flyingintotheunknown · 01/08/2026 20:06

ShautyMels · 01/08/2026 20:03

But on per capita data migrants from these regions have a higher propensity to commit crime. - and this gets ignored

Of course. It gets ignored because it doesn’t suit the lefty narrative.

So are you… the same person who said climate change is a reason to have illegal migration. Oh and I thought you said you were “done with me”. Obviously not.
I cannot be arsed with anymore of your leftist ideology, although it’s been hilarious watching you tie yourself in knots trying to defend thousands of migrants illegally entering a country.
So silly its laughable

Flyingintotheunknown · 01/08/2026 19:59

Never said they were… but the amount of lefties who defend those who do stab, rape and murder is quite frankly disgusting! So try to wrap your head around that!

Would you be there alone with them without any guardians to protect you?

They will say yes obviously 🤣

I have no problem being around refugees and vulnerable migrants - it’s what I do for living.

However, being around people who demonstrate such little compassion towards others - that’s something I can do without.

They were until they became governed by another numbskull and will be committed again when he goes.

I actually liked the energy policy in his first term. This term he's really messed the world up. But in the first term his policy his policy made the USA an energy exporter and massively helped the economy.

Like those “migrants” who rape, stab and murder British citizens? Well I sure as hell wouldn’t like to be around people like you if these are the type you’re defending!!

Oh, so you’d rather be dropped in amongst 50,000 Moroccan men than be around one, presumably female, poster? Really?

Strong evidence that these “migrants” might be being paid by Morocco to create a crisis / embarrass the Spanish government to punish them for their stance wrt Israel. Morocco did something similar when Spain took in some Moroccan political opponent for medical treatment.

It was a US/Israeli plan. Morocco is one of Israel's biggest allies. They back Morocco's claim to Western Sahara so Morocco does this for them in order to punish Spain for their stance against Israel's actions in Gaza and for refusing to allow US military to use their bases when attacking Iran.

No, but it’s how it should work.
