AIBU to be deeply concerned about the recent influx of 30k+ undocumented arrivals in Spain?

AIBU to feel really unsettled by the recent news coming out of Spain and Ceuta? Reports are showing that tens of thousands of undocumented migrants have crossed over in such a short window, completely overwhelming local infrastructure, reception centers, and security forces.

I know migration is always a sensitive and compassionate topic, but looking at these numbers practically, I don't see how any European border region can absorb 30,000 to 50,000 arrivals almost overnight without severe strain on public resources, local housing, and emergency services.

What worries me even more is the precedent it sets for the rest of Europe and the UK down the line. Surely there has to be a firm balance between humanitarian support and actual, enforceable border control?

Am I being completely unreasonable to view this as a serious policy and security crisis, or are others feeling equally concerned about where this leads?

Would love to hear honest thoughts on how this should actually be handled!

You used the line “well if England hadn’t colonised”. So basically you were blaming the English of today for stuff that happened years ago before we were even born and had no control of.
Using the excuse that they can speak English to justify mass illegal migration is not an excuse at all. They can speak their mother tongue as well which is surely easier for them, yet they decide to leave their own country!

I am pointing out the history of colonisation and immigration. I also said its a big mess and in addition I wonder why the Home Office can't do their jobs effectively. What is behind all this....what is behind the situation in Cuenta?
I fear I am wasting my time.

If it’s not a punishment, what is it ?

They don't exactly improve UK society do they

Why indeed? Why are those who are so outraged often abusers and criminals?

It’s most of the country who are outraged.

ShautyMels · 01/08/2026 21:10

glowfrog · 01/08/2026 21:04

Why is it that there’s all this outrage on the streets about the potential threat of violence from foreign men and no riots over the sickening rate of violence (sexual and otherwise) committed by British men every day towards their partners and children?

Both are disgusting. But just because we have domestic rapists doesn't mean we should import mor.

Oh and I’m still waiting for you to explain what relevance the English colonising other countries many years ago
As mentioned the people of these countries often speak English, were educated in English, and therefore feel it might work for them.

punished with mass illegal migration I don't agree that its a punshment.

Oh I thought you had something new to say. Apparently not.

I didn't mention climate change and I am not in favour of rape and violence.

Oh, and I'm not stupid either.

Oh and I’m still waiting for you to explain what relevance the English colonising other countries many years ago, even centuries ago in some cases has to do with mass illegal migration into the UK and why the English of today should be punished with mass illegal migration because our ancestors colonised other countries before we were even born?? You have conveniently ignored my question 🤣

Obviously have nothing new to say yourself and you’re just reading stuff off the woke lefty script!

Flyingintotheunknown · 01/08/2026 20:47

Well put it this way, those young men coming here on boats and leaving their wives and children behind are not coming here to flee war torn countries while passing through multiple safe countries to get here are they. So that would leave economic, opportunistic, criminals and those with an agenda (certainly not climate change 🤣). Or is that too complicated for you to understand?

Yes and what exactly is the benefit to Britain of allowing this to happen? Is it because the people pushing for this don’t have to worry about their daughters as they live in areas where it’s not an issue.

Until it becomes an issue when they have to be accommodated in their areas as nowhere else to put them. It will happen eventually and it is happening to some of these small villages now. These lefties will learn the hard way.

Batrat · 01/08/2026 20:47

ShautyMels · 01/08/2026 20:34

But there are more of a threat than a man from let's say Switzerland

I said neither of the first 2 statements.

I am asking what forces are behind migration? Please? economic, historical, opportunists?
The great replacement?

Yes please do. The only person with “theories” on here is you!

So far we have had “climate change is an excuse for illegal migration” and “rape victims are making it up” because there are Sudanese men who live in your area so you don’t see it. Make it make sense.
And “who’s behind the mass illegal migration” because it can’t possibly be those who have entered the UK illegally. 🙄

I am well aware that rape is used and hideous things go on there.

That does not mean every male from that country is a threat.

But there are more of a threat than a man from let's say Switzerland

We have a large Sudanese population where I live. Where is this abuse of women and so on?
They seem like people to me.

Oh so these woman and children who have reported they have been raped are all making it up now? Talk about victim blaming.
You know what, you’re absolutely vile and disgusting! I thought maybe a bit delulu when I read that you thought climate change would be a good excuse for illegal migration, but it seems you’re making any excuse possible now to defend these criminals while gaslighting and dismissing people on this thread. Sick! 🤢

You wonder who or what is behind it? Mass migration from 3rd world countries who treat women as inferior citizens. Did you really need to ask?

Yes, please tell.
