To think 25 is too late to find the LOML

I met the love of my life, but he moved away to Australia for a great job and found a wife a few years later. I know that if he hadn't moved, we would still be together and be married with kids. He is what I would describe as a 'high value' man: employed, beautiful, 6', kind, good with kids, funny, athletic, loyal, wrote me poems, passionate, romantic, domestic, did all housework. I am green with envy towards his wife.

It seems like even the least desirable men in society still discard me after a few weeks. I mean men who are unemployed, ugly, hate children, short, mean, minimum wage, addicted to porn and or video games, abusive, broke etc.

Why is it that I was able to attract one high value man in my entire life who became absolutely psychotically crazily madly in love with me but can't even seem to find anyone with more than two of the same aforementioned traits?

I'm told (mainly by friends mothers I admit) that I am an 'attractive' woman. I have friends, my own house, an Oxford education and a good job and I normally try to suppress my neediness and fragility in relationships but it seems to always bubble to the surface despite how hard I try to mask it. I end up feeling used and discarded. I am utterly miserable and my mother and sister have no issues finding or maintaining a man.

I'm pitiful and the humiliation of being disposed of so frequently is driving me to some very dark thoughts.

Having a slow day today OP? A few threads around

Katielovesteatime · 25/09/2024 14:29

Putting propel into categories like ‘high value’ and ‘low value’ is really shallow, judge mental and cruel. It might be why you’re losing people so fast, if this judgement and attitude is being picked up on!

Katielovesteatime · 25/09/2024 14:30

Also it sounds like you’re obsessed with your married ex, which also probably doesn’t attract people.

mn29 · 25/09/2024 14:30

High value? Gross. Been listening to much Andrew Tate et al have you?

On the off-chance you're genuine, no it's not too late. One of my best friends met the 'love of her life' (having previously enjoyed a couple of good, but ultimately not right, long-term relationships) at age 39. Married at 41, baby at 42. They're perfect for each other.

NQOCDarling · 25/09/2024 14:31

You've answered your question in your post
You've damned every bloke on the planet because ond buggered off to Oz and found someone else. Why did he move without you/ why didn't you go with him if he was so fabulous.
Get. A . Cat

Peonies12 · 25/09/2024 14:31

"high value man" - jesus christ... You need to change your attitude if you want to meet someone! Be happy on your own first, don't expect a relationship to make you happy entirely. There's not such thing as 'soulmates' or love of your life. You make a commitment to the right person at the right time, and chose them every day.

RRBB1920 · 25/09/2024 14:31

Well I didn't meet my daughter's father until I was 35. Perhaps it's not an age thing but the vibes people give off?

angellinaballerina7 · 25/09/2024 14:32

But why are you dating unemployed child haters if you consider them beneath you low value?

what’s for you won’t go by you, this man went to Australia and wasn’t for you.

Showing my age, but I've now got London Boys 'Requiem' in my head...
"You're the love of my life, my life, my life
And I won't let you go now
This is a requiem for love
Our love, our love is a miracle now, oh
Like a thief in the night, the night, the night
I was begging for love
This is a requiem for-
Life has set me free, taking a chance on you and me
This is the story now
The story of our love"

Thank you for reminding me of this excellent song!

Oh, OP, you're right. At 25 you are totally past your prime. Your hysterical womb is now shrivelling, your ankles only fit to be seen by the help, and I don't think your dowry would be enough to entice any man of high value at all.

My advice to you is as follows: a laudanum prescription to ease the pain of your heartbreak. Copy out the love letters of your travelling man, lest your tears smudge the ink and you lose the words to time. Refrain from the urge to send poison pen letters to his new wife. At least two weeks in the country to help your constitution.

Are you sure he wasn't love bombing?

Yes I'm sure. Many have said here that he wasn't the love of my life because he moved to australia. The salary he was offered there is $150,000 per year compared to £30k for the same job in the UK, so he didn't have much choice. Additionally, I wasn't able to get citizenship there.

So he chose money over you.

Forget about him.

Erm, no he chose not being in poverty and good weather over poverty and misery.

You sound a bit deluded tbh. Stop trying to convince yourself he's the love of your life. He's married with kids in another country.

Forget about him and you'll have an easier time moving on.

Nobody tries to get "citizenship" before moving to Australia - first of all, you try to get a work visa. I'm very surprised a high value person like you with your Oxford degree didn't get one of those. Why didn't My LOML marry you and take you with him as his spouse?

And how many years ago was this, exactly? Of youreonly 25 now?

housethatbuiltme · 25/09/2024 17:26

Of course he did and OP would too... thats the point.

In OP's world its all about how rich and good looking you are so money clearly comes above people and thats exactly why he is perfect.

I mean what is he too do, stay here with OP and end up being in the same category as those minimum wage broke losers of low value? Then OP wouldn't love him anymore.

Jesus where the hell did I say or even imply any of that? I don't believe that and it is no my view, nor did i say it. I'm just looking for advice on how to improve, why has that made me the subject of your vitriol?

I mean this in the nicest way, but you scream "desperate". This is what will be putting off potential suitors. I think you need to just relax a bit and try not to force the process. It will happen when it's meant to. In the mean time, spend your time with friends/hobbies/travel etc.

Having a man is NOT the pinnacle of life, it is not the be all and end all.

Why would you need a citizenship?

You can go to Australia as a backpacker, they have some of the most lapsed control in the world especially if your coming from somewhere like the UK. Its basically stay as long as you like.... OK, its not, you can get a 12 month backpack workers visa. Or you could get a holiday visa (which doesn't allow work) where technically have to leave every 3 months but theres no limit on how long you need to be gone for or how many time you can come and go so basically as long as you take 4 holidays a year to another country and your super rich wildly in love perfect man supports you then your golden.

Seems like either you weren't welcome (not loved by him) or didn't want to go (so can't have loved him that much).

Missingpotatocroquettes · 25/09/2024 17:34

Op, being a self-proclaimed "femcel" will not be helping you. The andrew Tate redpill high/low value stuff is really gross and other people can probably sense it in your attitude. It's just not attractive to anyone. I would recommend getting some therapy and working on changing your outlook.

You're only 25! You have so much time and you're so young. Good luck!

There’s always a choice.
