Best family hotels with a swimming pool in the UK, as recommended by parents

Swimming is great fun for the whole family - and an easy win during a UK getaway. To help you plan your next staycation, here’s our guide to the best UK hotels with a swimming pool.

By Nela Lukic | Last updated Sep 14, 2022

For many of us, swimming is an essential part of a family holiday. Of course, setting camp close to a beach is great when the weather’s warm, but it’s also great to have a nice, sparkling body of water right where you're staying.

Why? Well, most will agree it’s a pleasure to dip into the hotel’s pool after a day of sightseeing. Plus here in the UK, if your hotel has an indoor pool, you can enjoy it all year round, no matter the weather outside. Your room is just a few steps away, too, in case you need to fetch something. And more importantly - having a swimming pool in your hotel can be a huge help in keeping kids entertained and happy!

Rooftop pools, ground floor pools, outdoor pools, indoor pools, heated pools, pools with water slides… UK hotels have them all. To help you find the best one for you and your family, here’s our guide to the best hotels with a swimming pool in the UK.

Top 5 UK hotels with a swimming pool

Do hotels in the UK have pools?

In the UK, a hotel with a swimming pool is not the norm, but the exception. If you are looking for a hotel with a swimming pool, you always have to check that there is one available.

During colder weather, you can stay in hotels with heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

In summary, there are many hotels with nice swimming pools in the UK, but this is not a classic hotel with a pool destination, so finding a hotel with a spectacular pool may prove more difficult.
