I'm joining you on that hill. I spoiled my last ballot, having felt unable to vote Tory but equally unable to vote Labour or Libdem, despite having voted for those parties since turning 18.

I'm done waiting for Labour to get it's act together on this. I won't spoil another ballot, so I will be voting Tory.

I am now a single issue voter.

Good. I'll be voting Tory. I do anyway but if he couldn't define a woman or protect womens spaces, then I'd be changing my vote to someone who could.

I don't vote Tory but I still very much welcome their (finally) finding their spine and speaking some truth and common sense on the matter, because every time they do so, the more pressure will be heaped on the craven fools in charge of the Labour Party.

It is sad that it seems likely it is driven by the local elections, but that's the reality of a lot of politics and governance these days. Nothing travels to the front of the queue until folk make a fuss.

I’ve thought for a while that Johnson was reticent about these issues because he knows how committed the Biden administration is to trans rights. Looks like he’s reached the same conclusion the rest of us have about Sleepy Joe.

100% agree with this. It's too important for me. Although well aware that even an imbecile, ironic, would have worked out given the current public voice, that knowing what a woman is is a good agenda to push atm.

Now that Johnson has spoken, I'm waiting to hear how the Labour Party responds. I'd really like to vote for them again but like so many women, won't while they hand wave away women's safety, rights sports and critically, child safeguarding.

I wrote to my labour MP today to tell her to tune into MN to understand that women are deserting labour because of their inability to acknowledge biological facts. Not yet had a response.

Well he didn't capitulate to the tantrums about trans and conversion therapy. He held the line and has clarified it with precisely the nuanced argument about children and Gillick, sport and single sex spaces that you can find on here.
Loathe him as I do, I appreciate that this is the first time a party leader leading has spoken in this way.

True, but maybe that doesn't matter. Maybe the fact that the prime minister is saying this will force sporting bodies and leisure centres, refugees etc to change their rules?
