.... used a convicted paedophile drag queen on their float at Brighton Pride:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6143783/British-Airways-hires-convicted-paedophile-drag-queen-Gay-Pride-celebrations.html

There was a time when child rapists were considered to be unacceptable, dangerous and would never have been accepted in society. But in our wonderful new world of diversity and inclusion they are evidently being included and feted all over the place.

I can't believe BA had to hire gays from an agency.
BA
Had to hire gays
WTF

Gentlygently · 07/09/2018 21:25

Hmmmm. What is their policy on high heels?

It's high time that politicians and organisations started exerting some due diligence about all this. There are some very dodgy people coming out from under this umbrella and some companies / political parties / charities are unthinkingly allying themselves with those who are a serious threat to children and women. Not a good look.

I'm afraid my little inner voice is just going "fer feck's sake, not another one..."

"Sewell, 34, was convicted of four counts of rape of a boy under 16 in 1999 and was sentenced to three years"
Not good.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 08/09/2018 05:41

The thing is, you presumably don't need a DBS check to work on a carnival float for a day. So really, how is an employer to know?

Mamaryllis · 08/09/2018 06:04

I’m similarly boggled, turph. Grin

Magair · 08/09/2018 06:11

The timeline doesn’t add up..... he can only have been 15 in 1999 if he is now 34?

LaContessaDiPlump · 08/09/2018 06:13

1999 was 19 years ago, and 15 + 19 = 34....

LaContessaDiPlump · 08/09/2018 06:14

Sorry, it's early - just realised no one was disputing that Blush

RiddleyW · 08/09/2018 06:52

Well obviously BA wouldn't have known he had this conviction. I’m sure they’re furious with the agency that supplied the guy.

Childrenofthestones · 08/09/2018 06:58

"Passionate champions of diversity and inclusion"

Including convicted paedophiles,

Diversity is our strength.😁

SPOFS · 08/09/2018 07:28

Be open minded, but not so open minded that your brain falls out.

Mumsnut · 08/09/2018 08:15

Wonder if BA employ any trans flight attendants?

Probably - not sure why there would be a link to this thread where the man involved is neither trans nor a BA employee.

Potplant2 · 08/09/2018 08:42

Not a fan of BA at the moment. Yesterday I had to cancel my debit card because I’m one of those who booked a flight in the past couple of weeks while BA was giving away our data for free.

Turph · 08/09/2018 22:37

Not sure about BA but other airlines do.

I though drag queens were offensive to trans activists? Which is why they were banned from Glasgow Pride?
