I was there. It was a bloody marvellous event, with Stella Creasey, Jess Philips, Shaista Gohir, Sophie Walker, Anne Jenkin and moar excellent women.
The woman in the audience asked something like "you could end up in a situation where half parliament were men and half parliament were Transwomen and would that be an OK outcome?". Sal Brinton of lib dems said (I am paraphrasing) " to the question if half parliament were men and half Transwomen, then yes absolutely happy, Transwomen are women"
Maria Miller said that transwomen experienced terrible suffering, and transwomen were legally women. And the green party deputy leader Amelia Womack said transwomen are women. And then one of the organisers popped up to say that transwomen were women. And there was a scattering of applause after each.
I was interested that Dawn Butler said summat like "It's really important we have a transwoman in parliament as they are underrepresented", and there was not applause (FWIW I totally agree with her).
