Thank you for that SoulSearcher. I've just been feeling annoyed that I didn't manage to contact my MP yet. I'm going to write something now!

Does anyone know the process for getting something like this passed into legislation? Im just wondering if there is any timeframe of how long it would take.

I will be emailing my MP (hes useless) and Maria Miller and Jess Philips in the hope something sinks in, or at least opens this upto more debate and how we can protect both women amd transwomen.

How do we get this properly debated in the news media? A genuine discussion about implications and consequences?

Write to the letters pages/ editor?

I've just had a letter back from my MP. I really thought she might have taken in some of my concerns. Instead I got the usual political speech about how great the government is, how pleased she is that gender dysphoria is no longer a mental health condition and how important tackling transphobia and bullying is. I totally agree with her on that but she didn't even bother to address to potential problems of having self identification as the only criteria for accessing women's spaces or about supporting gender dysphoria children beyond offering hormones etc. I feel totally demoralised.

If this bill is passed I will never vote again because it will have shown that no one in power could care less about women. Honestly I could cry with all this, it's thoroughly depressing.
