To celebrate the new Annie Movie - At Cinemas Now, the team behind the film would love to hear all about your doggy sidekick.

The team behind Annie the Movie says "If you've seen the film, you'll know Annie forms a strong attachment with her dog, Sandy. They always say a dog is a man's best friend, and he certainly is Annie's!"

Check out the trailer here:

So, do you have a pooch who you love to bits? Does your dog go the extra mile to care for you and your family?

Please share your doggy tales and photos of your dog on this thread - everyone who does so will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win £150 worth of High Street Vouchers and a Sandy Plush Toy.

Thanks and Good Luck,
MNHQ

These are my dog sidekicks, Oz and Ku. Both rescues, Oz is a failed hare courser, Kus mum was dumped on the streets heavily pregnant.
Oz is ds's best friend and when ds and I went away for two nights last week, he spent the evenings searching for him.

Here's Coco our gorgeous ex street dog. She's not perfect (by a long shot!) but she is amazingly loving, and a fabulous friend to my children (and me)
Here she is watching over DD stripping wallpaper in our new house, and guarding DS who was ill with horrible tonsillitis.

*Excuse DDs unbrushed hair!

This is LittleDog, he's a tiny Chinese Crested cross, who had a terrible start in life. When I got him, he'd bern fed on adult Baker's Choice (totally unsuitable for a puppy), was heaving with fleas and worms, and had faeces matted into his fur.

6 years on, he and I are inseparable, he's my best friend, my baby, my constant companion. He's hilariously funny, loves everyone, and when we're out everyone has to stop and talk to him. Plus, he's half naked, and I get to dress him up. I couldn't ask for more in a dog, and the DDs call him Little Bro.

He has a Peanut sling for when he's tired of walking. I often get stopped and told how much hair my 'baby' has Grin

This is my wee sidekick, Dave. He's 13 now and not keeping the best health. I'm in denial that he might not be with us for much longer.
I rescued Dave 10 years ago from a local shelter. He had been badly beaten and dumped in woods. Despite his background, he has the loveliest, most gentle temperament you could imagine. When I got Dave, I was single and over the years he's coped brilliantly with the arrival of my husband, son and daughter.
He loves presents and there are a few under the tree for him. All dogs are lovely but I think Dave takes the (literal and metaphorical) biscuit!

Love my puppy (well he was 11 in this pic) ! Got him at 6 months and he will be 15 years old this week. Still got his personality, still mad for every meal, still daft for a ball. Just the hips & deafness slow him down a bit. Just to make sure we know he's here, he's taken to announcing his presence by shoving his head between our knees from behind - an old dog can devise new tricks. Xmas Grin

This is Lupo. I adore him. He's a sofa sized cross between a polar bear and a pony (otherwise known as a Maremma). Soft, soppy, cuddly and quite possibly, the best dog in the entire world.

This is Sprocket, he's a retired ex racing Greyhound. We are his second home, his first owner unfortunately became very ill and went into a nursing home. He came to us when DD was 7.5 months old, she's 3.6 years now and he's been (mostly!) really good with her. The photo of them together was taken the day they came first in a child handler class at a dog show :) a few weeks after DD turned 2.

He is my best friend and listens to everything I tell him. Because of him I made a human best friend who I travel a few hundred miles to stay with occasionally.

A random fact about Sprocket, he has 4598 brothers and sisters. His father was described as a 'true world champion super sire', he died

My dogs are like my children, Fergie on the left was with us first. I rescued Bailey (on the right) from a puppy farm. He was about to be out down when I took him into my home. At first we had problems, as both dogs are male and Fergie was with us first - so we had issues with him being dominant over Bailey. Here we are almost a year on and Fergie treats Bailey like his son - he cleans him, hold his lead when we walk them and always protects him. Fergie protects Bailey because Bailey has liver problems and eyesight issues. My two boys are beautiful and are an important part of our family!

I don't have a dog but I do have a cat, Princess, who thinks she's a dog. She follows me around everywhere like a puppy & lays in my arms even when I'm typing now. They say cats don't come when they're called but Princess does. If she's playing in the woods at the top of my garden & I call her name, she comes bounding in at top speed ready for cuddles. I'd be lost without her

I have three loving rescue dogs, called Bobby Blue (1 year old greyhound), Katy (3 year old Lurcher) and Lucy (5 year old greyhound).

I'm not very confident, and my dogs are my absolute world to me, they keep me company at home and get me out walking and meeting people.

I really couldn't live without them.
