My first thread received so much support that I've been advised to make another one due to the number of messages. I knew my dh was up to no good, added myself to their Facebook chat and blew it all up.....

Hi missmarple, I read your other thread - your husband is a dickhead! You however, have handled the situation impeccably, good on you. Wish I'd done the same with my ex instead of dragging out the heartache for a few more years! Hope you're ok as can be Flowers

My friends came round last night. I have the hangover from hell today though.
H phoned this morning on the the landline but I ignored him. He turned up about half hour later,
Iforgot to pack his work shoes. It was hard to see him, I thought he would still be angry but he said everything is his fault. He can't believe her has been so stupid and if he had one wish it would be to go back and not start this thing. She meant nothing and was just a cheap thrill. It didn't seem real and he could separate it from his real life. Until I found out and then he realised what he stands to lose and he will do anything I want to make it up to me.
God this is so hard, it would be easier to forgive him and get my old life back.
I won't though. He took his passport and a letter from his credit card co, this is the credit card we use for holidays so I couldn't resist a dig about him taking that slag away. He said he needs it to rent a flat. Sorry for not too much detail, I have a massive hangover and stinking cold!

Thing is, though, OP, he did it before and didn't learn did he? Yes you could have your old life back again very easily, along with the heart pounding "is he up to no good" again, every time he thinks you've grown complacent again.

That's no way to live Flowers. This will feel like pushing a boulder up a mountain but you will have peace of mind when you get to the top.... unlike any of his future partners will.

Remember that he didn't end it of his own free will it was because he got found out.

Report
Asterado · 23/09/2018 21:02

All that translates to is ‘I’m sorry I got caught’.

Stay strong lady!

Tomshardysnextwife - (I need to learn how to tag!) you've summed it up. I can't live like that. I love him so much but he's fucked it up.

You have been amazing Miss Marple.

Remember this is your life though and you have to do what’s right for your family and future.

ohfourfoxache · 23/09/2018 21:12

MissMarple I really don’t want to hurt you. But in your old life he was lying and cheating and convincing you that you were going insane.

Would you really rather be in the dark thinking you were nuts?

Or do you wish that he was actually a decent human being?

You are better than him in every way. Take comfort in that x
