just wanted to write this for all those mums out there being told they have abormal/irregular/misshapen gestational sacs. I had a MMC in May this year at my 12 weeks scan baby had died at 10 weeks had a d and c then in July and August had 2 very early losses at 4 weeks I then got pregnant again in august and as I have had 3 miscarriages was offered an early scan. So at 5 weeks and 5 days I was scanned at my local EPU by a lady who told me you have a heartbeat a yolk sac etc but the gestational sac is abnormal so prepare yourself for another miscarriage. She couldn't answer any questions I had in regards to what my chances were and could the sac sort itself out etc. So I was booked in for a scan in 2 weeks and given progesterone suppositories. So for the last 2 weeks I have cried and thought the worst so I have been researching. Everything I have found seems to be bad however after researching myself and talking to 2 ultrasound specialists it seems that the shape of the sac is not actually a concern and they come in all shapes and sizes (can't comment on ones where there is no fetes or heartbeat detected) so fast forward to today had my 8 week scan everything was absolutely fine baby was good size heartbeat great all good news. I just wanted to write this for all you ladies having a similar experience and wanted to hear something positive! if you have a heartbeat and measurements are all good then please relax most ultrasound techs won't even take notice of the shape of the sac after seeing a heartbeat so good luck and baby dust to you all xxxxxx
