We got one of those standing fans, my DP then found a string bag/net somewhere and shoved a load of freezer blocks in it to dangle in front of fan - instant air conditioning. Bliss!

Feeling for you all as a Mum of August & September borns. The autumn walks are lovely...

That’s a great idea. There seems to be a slight breeze tonight so it’s a little cooler here. Am really hoping that I can sleep tonight.

Bad time today.. in hospital the entire day theres something wrong with babies growth... they want to induce me...
This was my nightmare as my last induction was absolutely horrendous... Needless to say I did not take this news well and fully sobbed in front of a whole load of people... they mustve all thought I was a total delicate flower..

I dont think im going to get my home birth :-(

They didnt even want to let me leave but I signed myself out because the trace of movements and heartbeat of the baby was fine and all they said theyd do overnight was more monitoring and I think I just need a good nights sleep if I am going to have to face an induction.

I did try asking for a section but no one was really having any of it... although they said it was 'up to me in the end'... basically they werent going to help me get one

I really hope I go into natural labour in the night. I let them do a sweep and they said I was 2cm dialated and having contractions every ten mins.... so please pray for me to go into natural labour!!!

@lets - I’m so sorry to hear that. Keeping everything tightly crossed for you that either you go into labour naturally or you have a much better induction than last time. Keep the faith - it can definitely happen! And eyes on the prize - your baby will be in your arms very soon. Thinking of you.

How is everyone else?

I’m feeling irrationally grumpy as everyone else in my antenatal group has now had their babies except me. Even the woman who was told a couple of days ago that there was no progress at all and no signs of labour so she would likely be having a late induction then just suddenly went into labour and had her baby yesterday. I felt so positive after my last appointment where the midwife said things were progressing but now it’s 5 days later and NOTHING is happening Sad I feel like she’s just never going to be here.

Well. I’m back from a pretty traumatic appointment. Was fine at first but then my midwife struggled to find baby’s heartbeat. Was the longest 10 minutes of my life. Turns out that they’re laying back to back so the angle was v tricky but I can’t even tell you how scared I was. It brought back so many memories of losing our little girl last year just eugh.
And then we tried a sweep but I’m way way off being ready. Nothing doing there it seems and I’m getting closer and closer to the c section I don’t want. Feeling a bit down and crap.

Sk166 how many weeks are you? I hope something starts moving for you soon

@KTD - that sounds really stressful and scary. Don’t lose hope though - one of the women in my group couldn’t have her sweep because she was nowhere near ready either, and then she had her baby 2 days later. Hers was also back-to-back and she didn’t have to have a section, so try not to worry just yet. Easier said than done, I know! How many weeks are you? I’m 40+3 now. Nothing so far today!

KTD thats mustve been really scary hope you are okay Flowers None of my sweeps did anything at all... and they couldnt do one on my friend but she went into labour naturally a few days later anyway! So heres hoping for you! xx

Popping in

Kt Flowers must have been awful

Sk things will hopefully kick off soon. The last few days are always the hardest

Lets
Hope it all goes smoothly for you.
Its not what you wanted but they are concerned so better out than in.
If you want a section tell them.
They cant say no. Tell them you are worried and hopefully they will listen!

Has anyone had movements that feel like seizures??
Baby does it a lot. I dunno what to think of it and cant describe it any other way

Imx0 those pains are horrible!!
Hope they are doing something productive!

I will be mentioning it to her, yep mw this week.
Some days hes 'over active' and some days a lil slower. Now the shaking movements last from 5 secs to 30 secs sometimes and can be a few times a day. But not everyday 🤔

Can I join? 37 weeks today, 2nd baby and totally fucking done in.

Expecting to go overdue as well since #1 was 12 days late when she finally made an appearance after a slow induction which ended up in forceps.

37+2 and utterly exhausted. Feet like blocks of lead, carpal tunnel meaning I have no dexterity in either hand and general lethargy really getting me down. Wish I had the energy to do some exercise/walking to get the baby out! Cant do much else than just lie on the sofa with a fan on...

lmx0 · 04/07/2018 12:35

@BeardofZeus & @BoomBlastandRuin welcome & congrats!!! Sounds like your both ready for baby to be born!! And both due around same time as me (26th!) boom i hope you dont go over this time and beard its way to hot to do anything outdoors!! (Apart from sitting in the shade maybe!)

Report
BeardofZeus · 04/07/2018 12:41

@lmx0 yes! The 23rd but dreaming of labour starting imminently!!

Keep getting heart palpitations when I lie down and feeling generally woozy but I physically cannot drink any more water than I already am so it cannot be dehydration surrrrrely?? Eurgh.

Thought I felt a twinge of a contraction earlier - was just my belly rumbling from hunger haha Grin

@BeardofZeus im happy enough for baby to stay put for another week yet as ive a few things I wanna get done before hand and im not too uncomfortable just yet however that could very soon change!!! Ohhh i wouldn't know whats causing them but shouldn't be dehydration if your drinking plenty

Afternoon all. Still no labour here sigh. Baby moving loads am hoping they’re no longer back to back and doing lots of leaning over my ball to try and encourage them to move.
Went for the enhanced recovery ‘class’ for the c section next week. It was - ok - frustrating because it isn’t what I want but good to think they’ll aim to have me discharged within 24hrs. Fingers crossed my ‘bring on the labour’ plan works this weekend and if not I guess that’s what will happen! It does help planning with a toddler in the mix I guess.
