I've lost count of what number we were on, sorry.

Also there seems to be another BFP after MC thread running, but it has all different people on it so I didn't know if we should crash theirs or just have two running at once...

I defo found a doppler reassuring, but wouldn't want to use after 24/28 weeks because of the risk of false reassurance. I don't tend to use it much after feeling movement at all actually, but I liked it for that period in between. I agree if it's a choice between scan or doppler, spend the money on an extra scan - it's nice to be reassured by an actual health professional who knows what they are looking at :)

In other news I'm now on 2 weekly appointments rather than 4. The car seat arrived which means technically if he arrived now we have everything that we need, which is a bit scary. 29+5 now... not long to go.

Thanks so much for the new thread, Bertie. I have also noticed the other thread before - I think it's a group of women who had all been on the TTC after MC thread and so wanted to keep chatting after their BFPs, so I think the threads do slightly different things.

Another good CTG for me today - though my urine sample did reveal that I appear to have thrush, which is rather less lovely! We're also nearly there with getting stuff ready, bertie, which I find both exciting and scary. I think I should pack my hospital bag this weekend as I'll be nearly 36 weeks - is that a normal sort of time to do it?!

I have my dating scan tomorrow. Slightly bricking it, as symptoms have waned but no real bump or movement or anything. I hate not knowing but don't want to hear bad news.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow, sooz, and hoping for good news. Hope the time before the scan passes quickly - I know it's so hard to calm yourself down, but symptoms really don't mean anything much, and it would be so, so unusual for you to feel movement at this stage.

Just marking my place. 28+1 now and really feeling large.

Great news Lisa. I’d get packing now! I’ve got thrush too, hardly surprising after antibiotics though.

Sooz good luck tomorrow, will keep my fingers crossed for good news. After a good scan earlier in pregnancy your chances of a miscarriage are really small so hopefully all goes to plan.

Harmony results tomorrow and if it’s good I may start telling some people. Starting with my friend who I am bridesmaid for in September. If all goes to plan I’ll be 27 weeks, and as the dress is sequinned I will look like a giant disco ball.

Ah fair enough, I thought that was what this one was! Well, it doesn't matter :)

Good luck for tomorrow, Sooz.

Lisa - yes! Defo pack. I've got on my little list that I made to choose a hospital by week 30, then ascertain and obtain all contents of hospital bag during weeks 33-34. I'll finish work at week 34 so I expect I'll be busy with that and then I'll pack my hospital bag in week 35/36.

Remember 37 weeks is full term so realistically you're fairly likely to go into labour any time from week 37-42. If that doesn't freak you out too much Blush

Thanks for the new thread BertieBotts!

Yh I'm pretty sure the other thread is made up of the TTC after MC lot starting with December babies (their first one had a mention of Christmas cake in it). I could be wrong mind :3

Tbh I'm trying to avoid thinking about labour! They said we'd have a discussion about induction depending on my next growth scan - though I can't imagine they'd recommend it if the results are as encouraging as the last one and all the CTGs stay good? I have now accepted that it's pretty clear that I'm not going to be downgraded to low-risk, so no water birth! I keep assuming that if there's no reason for induction I'll go very overdue - but then I was assuming I'd have a big baby until I found out I wasn't! I think I assumed I'd have exactly the experience my mum did, which is silly really.

Just marking my place before I go to bed so that when I wake up at 5am to pee I can find you all!

Good luck with the scan SoozC

Placemarking! 12 hours at work today, mostly on my feet, haemoglobin low and being prescribed iron tablets. Slightly delirious!

Place marking also!

30 weeks today. Told myself that I'd do my best to try and enjoy the pregnancy from 30 weeks onwards. And also start buying things! So far we have 3 babygrows that my Mum sent us Confused

Big congratulations on reaching 30 weeks keepon - I know it was a big milestone for you, and I hope it does mean you can relax and enjoy a bit more (and shop!).

How long do you have left at work, flatwhite? I'm going to 38 weeks, but my job is very sedentary!

Tablets are horrible. I've just picked up mine for heartburn, something like Omeprazole). Didn't take them yesterday as it says to take them in the morning but as soon as DH heard the name he wasn't very positive about them. He's had to take them before and now I'm scared Grin

Anywho I'm counting down to 24 weeks and praying I get there (where I'll have a massive sobfest) - just 2 weeks to go. My manager keeps asking to bring my Mat B1 thing in but dont have an appointment with mw until the beginning of July. Anyone know how I can get it a bit earlier? -__- I have no clue what I'm doing

Report
kirinm · 14/06/2018 10:01

@UnicornsandRainbows1 I haven't got my MATB1 yet and I'm 28 weeks. Seeing my midwife today so will ask for it. You aren't required to give it to work until something like 4 weeks before you want maternity race to start so I'd ignore them. All you do have to do is tell them when you plan on taking mat leave by 25 weeks.

Report
UnicornsandRainbows1 · 14/06/2018 10:10

@kirinm They're being a right pain about it. We still haven't done a risk assessment yet and they're saying they need the MATB1 to get all that done too (erm no). Literally 100% done and cba to argue anymore

Report
LisaSimpsonsbff · 14/06/2018 10:22

My work also said they wanted the MATB1 by 25 weeks - luckily I knew this, and so asked for it at the 20 week scan, but it was a pain. If you get in contact with your midwife she should be able to do it without seeing you, and just arrange for you to collect it - I think the GP can also do it, which might potentially be easier.

kirinm · 14/06/2018 10:25

@UnicornsandRainbows1 my experience so far is that employers like to insist on things they aren't entitled to insist on without telling you that they cannot insist. Mine initially told me I should take all my annual leave before I start Mat leave. I asked them if it was a legal requirement as that was how it had been made to sound only to be eventually told that 'no' it was just a recommendation. I work in a law firm!

I'm sick of my work. My job is sedentary in the sense that I sit down all day but the hours I'm expected to put in and the targets I'm meant to hit aren't being adjusted which is why I'm going to take annual leave so I can go at 36 weeks. Very tempted to use the remainder of my holiday to leave at 34ish weeks to be honesty

Thanks for new thread @bertie!

Great news about scan @sooz and about harmony @para.

I’m still waiting for the blood results after my scan last week but I think probably no news is good in this case.

@unicorns I took omneprazole from about 15 weeks to the end of my first pregnancy. It worked for me as the heart burn was actually making me throw up and Gaviscon wasn’t having any effect. It’s started again this time but it’s manageable as yet.

Great news about all of you who are reaching the end stages.
