Argh - I just guessed you were SOH on the other thread not realising that you had revealed yourself! Do I win a prize though? Is it gingerbread?

LG&T you know the sad thing is that 11 hours isn't even half way across. I used to live in Arizona which is a 44 hour drive from New Jersey and that isn't even reaching California.

I do drive an automatic. I always have and I couldn't drive a standard/stick shift, if my life depended on it. I tried once and lets just say that me and the clutch don't get along.

I will begrudgingly share my gingerbread with you ITS!

Went to see Harry Potter on Wednesday - it was fantastic. They cut a lot out of the book but it was great none the less. A couple of tear jearker moments. Sooooooo looking forward to my book arriving tomorrow, will be tapping fingers on the table waiting for postie. Might not be on for a few days as will be using all my non child time to read

Has M settled a bit then, GW? Am thinking that if you have time to think of a new name on MN, you must be at least having a good day. Very good to know indeed.

Good to see you back 'the artist formerly known as SOH'.

April, oats in a sock under a running tap in the bath helps enormously as do kids antihistamine tablets. Hope he soon feels better.

Hosting a dinner party tonight so mush dash.

You chatty lot....

GW, I do like the new name but I think you'll always be SOH. Sorry, How's M doing, still sucking you dry?

AM, hugs for Jack.

Cam, have a nice evening is it a swanky dinner party or a close friends shove it all together party, like mine usually become.

lg&t, I hope you have a lovely weekend with N home.

Forgot to say the other day, Jorja weighed 5kg (don't know what that is in UK money)now, think she's caught up mighty well.

cameroonmama · 20/07/2007 19:24

swanky, does that mean getting a lot of stuff out of a lot of packets and putting a few chopped herbs on top and lighting a few candles? If so then it is definitely swanky (had to triple check then that I had added the s)

I've got my Harry Potter book, I've got my new Harry Potter book. Have read about 4 chapters so far and am getting annoyed when i get disturbed. Do they not know how serious this is....

Just had all the turf laid in the garden - it looks fantastic. Last little wall to be done tomorrow and then it will be complete (well apart from the decking but we need to wait a few weeks)

Jack looks worse today, if thats possible, and i have resorted to putting him in pants rather than nappies to try and help the itchiness. One accident so far but he is new to this so thats ok.

I must be the only one on MN that has never read a Harry Potter book.

Well for the 2nd day in a row Cruz has only gotten up once, at night he's going 10-2 and 2:30-7 so I'm not complaining. If he does it tonight we have a pattern.

Mateo is totally obsessed with Thomas the Tank. He has been for months but his obsession is growing leaps and bounds now. I'm think about taking him for "A day out with Thomas" where kids can ride the train and other stuff. Do you think that 2 is too young to go to things like that?

Report
aprilmeadow · 21/07/2007 19:44

MKG, we did that for Jack just before his birthday (3 days before Ella arrived). He is a major fan and thought it was great. We had Thomas and Diesel doing races up and down the track. Got to ride on Daisy and Toad and have pictures taken next to James. Fat Controller aka Sir Toppham Hat was also there. Fantastic day out, well worth a visit.

Well done on the sleep front

MKG - I am with you on the Harry Potter business, never looked at one, my dad bought us one of the dvds 2 years ago and we haven't even looked at it . Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they are great books and well written and I'm sure I will enjoy them with my dc when they are old enough but I just can't get that excited about them myself, sorry.

April, Thomas-land sounds so fantastic, ds1 would love it! He is still a fan at 3.5, though the attraction is waning a bit, more into Chitty Chitty Bang Bang now

J has not slept all day, which normally means he has a good long one in the night, fingers crossed as last night was a late one. The dinner party was a great success and not at all swanky

Today dh took the dc to see Shrek, which they loved. Then we had visitors, which meant a total of 6 kids, aged 9,7,5,5,3 and J and I thought of you LG&T and my admiration grew and grew You must go through so much food!! I hope your dh got home ok and you have all been having lots of fun today.

Anyone heard from Scoot? Its been a while and not like her at all.. I do hope she is ok.

Evening

Cam glad you had a nice evening. Fingers crossed J sleeps well tonight.

JL, 2hrs, oh I don't think I'd cope with that, you must be exhausted. Can you sleep during the day if he sleeps?

AM, Thank you whole heartedly for your efforts with the car. She'll just have to wait, I'm sure she won't realise that it might not be here for her b'day.

lg&t's quiet, hope she's having too much fun with N home.

MKG, Not read a Harry Potter book either.
I LOVE the films but saw them before I tried to read the books and then I couldn't get into them. I can't wait until the new one is out on DVD along with pirates of the carribean 3, they'll be on my letter to santa this year.

MKG · 22/07/2007 04:29

OK Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is about the scariest movie ever. I remember it gave me the worst nightmares ever. I'll stick with
Thomas Dh and I sit and watch it with him. I really like it too.

WE don't have Thomas Land this is just a traveling tour type thing where kids can go and take a ride on Thomas. I don't know, it is now 11:30 my time and Cruz is fussing in his cradle he hates it in there. So to the swing he will go.

I can't wait for Spiderman 3, Pirates 3, and every other movie to come out. I haven't been to a theater since before Mateo was born. Of course it's so expensive now it's cheaper to buy the dvd when it comes out than to go to the theater.

We dont have a Thomas Land either, its an event that runs for a week in April & August (for easter & summer holidays). Wasnt too expensive iirc. Think under 2's are free......

Got to chapter 13 of Harry Potter yesterday then had to go out for dinner, was contemplating taking the book with me......

Garden looks so lovely, just the brick wall to be done around the back of the patio today then all done - woo hoo

Jack's spots dont look as angry today and a lot have blistered. They are itchy but he refuses to take the piriton and let me put cream on him. Managed to get them on the ones in his nappy but thats it. Fingers crossed that Ella doesnt catch it.

Pebble, how are you getting on with your book?

MrsJB, going to speak to Mothercare and place an order for when one comes in. Cant believe that they are out of stock!

cameroonmama · 22/07/2007 10:01

AM and MrsJB I saw a Princess cozy coupe on woolworths website, but it said it wouldn't arrive until Aug 13th, do you think there is a shortage of them at the moment?

The garden sounds lovely AM, lets hope it stops raining long enough for you to use it

So is the Thomas thing a touring event do you think? If so I shall watch out for it down our way.

Hi all

Just bobbing in really quickly while I'm at my aunt's for dinner and my mum is holding Lexie.

We're great, Lexie is a beauty (although the poor child is my double, god bless her) and we're on countdown now to removal of the godforsaken pavlik harness for her hips. 5 weeks to go! Hooray!

Lexie is great, slept through on Friday night, but more often than not goes down around 10pm and wakes at 4am, goes back down til 8pm and gets into bed with me for a nice lie-in.

I'm trying to get out every day and we have made lots of lovely new yummy mummy friends. I'm always thinking of you all, and promise will get on next week and catch up with everyone's news.

Love to you all. xx
