This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who tested out Sunkissed’s Self-Tan Mousse Dark variant and their new innovative Hydrating Jelly Tan.

Smelt good! Not overpowering. Doesn't smell as bad afterwards like other fake tans.

Although the guide colour is dark, the colour isn't that dark when washing off. And I left it for the maximum time.

The smell was nice for a fake tan, not overbearing sickly sweet like some but also not really chemical smelling either.

4- cruelty free is a massive plus point. I’m not massively fussed on how natural the products are but definitely the more natural the better but it wouldn’t be the biggest selling point for me.

No it was amazing I really loved it.

Alas, I was sent the mousse tan remover to test so can’t answer most of the questions.

However I did try this as had old tan round my ankles and found it worked very well, easy to use and smelt lovely! Was a really good moisturizer.

Cruelty free and natural products are a 4 to me.

If I needed more of this I would buy it again.

- What did you like most about your Sunkissed tan?
The result of the application, I've had so many comments and compliments about my healthy glow. It took 3 applications over a few weeks to perfect the application process, first one I missed a few bits (it soaks in quite quick so you have to be very careful at remembering where you've done!) I also had patchy knees and elbows, and was a bit streaky, 2nd was better and 3rd application was perfection! I've got the knack now.

- What did you think about the smell, when you applied the tan?
The smell during and right after application was really lovely and pleasant. After developing (over night in bed!) I thought the smell was that very tell tale biscuit smell you get with fake tan, although not unpleasant at all and perhaps not as strong. Although not much to compare to as I haven't used tanning products for quite a few years!

- How long did your tan last? A week until I reapplied, although didn't fully fade. I went swimming in this time twice.

- How important are cruelty free and natural products to you on a scale of 1-5 (1 not at all - 5 very)?

Absolutely would, and will.

- Is there anything you would change about this product?
I would have the seam on the mitt on the inside, I found I scraped/caught myself with it. Other than that very impressed. Thank you for letting me try it.

• What did you like most about your Sunkissed tan? The fact it moisturised and dried quickly and it smelt nice (sorry I know it was meant to be one! )
• What did you think about the smell, when you applied It's smells Devine, so much so that a couple of people asked what moisturiser I used as it smelt lovely.
• How long did your tan last? I'm on day 5 now and it's still looking good.

• Would you purchase this product again? Yes definitely and would recommend
• Is there anything you would change about this product? I'd make the dark shade darker, I applied 2 coats as I had a mid tan after the first application, and wanted a deeper/ darker tan especially on my legs.

I will look out for this in stores and have already recommended it to everyone who asked had I been away for the weekend!

It was really easy to apply. The mitt is lovely and soft and it dried quickly.

It has a lovely smell! It did smell a bit biscuity after a while but not as strongly as other fake tan products that I've used.

It was a bit patchy. I think that's application error but because it dried so quickly it was hard to pinpoint where I'd missed. It doesn't have a guide colour so it's all guess work.

It looks very natural, I was initially worried as the moussse looked really dark on the application glove, but looks amazing on my already olive skin. My skin seemed to look smoother after every application.

It was a nice subtle smell. Not too strong.

• How long did your tan last?
  

I have used it 3 times since it arrived to build up a natural look and it still looks good now.

Yes I would definitely buy this again. It’s so easy to apply, with no streaks or dark patches left on the skin. It up there with the best self tanning products that I have used.

Initially I thought it wasn't very effective on an existing light tan, but it developed well over a 3 day period. The only, only negative for me is that it's not especially moisturising, and I have dry-ish skin so still looking for the holy grail of moisturising tanning product. But it was a really good tanning product alone.

I tried the dark mousse and I loved how easy it was to apply and the tan had no fake tan smell and had a holiday like fragrance and the tan was so natural looking. The tan has lasted nearly a week in this cold weather and would be more long lasting if we had some sun.
Scale of 5 for natural products and cruelty free importance.
I will be a regular user and have other family and friends that are keen to purchase and try. I really would not change a thing about this fake tan.

It was so natural, and golden. Having red hair, freckles and pale skin, it's hard to look good with a tan, but this was amazing!

Smelled like holidays when it went on, however when I awoke in the morning it did smell a little "biscuit-like", but not as bad as many other tans I've used.

4 days, but went patchy after 3.

Yes, I definitely would. As it dries so quickly, it is hard to remember where you've applied it. So I ended up with some very dodgy tan lines on the insides of my arms!! Next time I will slow down (did my whole body in 5 minutes first time).

Maybe a slight hint of guide colour, to see where you've applied it.

No, I've never *successfully* fake tanned before but this was so easy and enjoyable to use I'll be doing it regularly.

I tested the Sunkissed Dark self tan mousse. The velvet mitt that was included made the application really easy and it went on very smoothly.
It smelled lovely, not like the fake tans of old!
After washing it off the next morning it revealed a nice even colour that was not too dark, but still dark enough to be noticed. The tan lasted well and did not become patchy.
I would definitely use this sunkissed self tan again, I was really pleased that I had the opportunity to be one of the first to try it out.

Really enjoyed the scent. Quite delicate and not like normal tanning smells.

I did 1 application, then did another application the next day to get all the patches I missed. It lasted 4 days before it started to fade.

- What did you like most about your Sunkissed tan?
The colour was good, not too dark or too light. The smell is definitely better than other fake tans, and it absorbed really easily into the skin, so it wasn't sticky at all.

- What did you think about the smell, when you applied the tan?
Initially the smell is lovely. Smells like sun cream which is great. The morning after, or as the hours pass, it does get a bit whiffy but it's manageable as that's when it's due to be rinsed off anyway.

- How long did your tan last?
3 days approx

- How important are cruelty free and natural products to you on a scale of 1-5 (1 not at all - 5 very)?
4- I would prefer cruelty free but I don't actively seek it out.

- Would you purchase this product again?
Yes, I definitely will. And I will try other sunkissed products.

I would prefer a guide colour, even if it was slight. It was too easy to forget where I applied as it dried so quickly. Also didn't really moisturise me very well, but I can forgive that for the lovely colour.

• What did you like most about your Sunkissed tan? Easy application and texture, it didn't cling to dry patches and areas. Lovely guide colour and streak free on development (applied with make up powder brush)
• What did you think about the smell, when you applied the tan? Initial lovely smell of coconut then over an hour or so the normal aroma of tan came through.
• How long did your tan last? Faded over 4 days on arms and 2 days on chest/face
• How important are cruelty free and natural products to you on a scale of 1-5 (1 not at all - 5 very)? 3
• Would you purchase this product again? Yes for easy streak free tanning, no if I was wanted a dark tan I can get darker from other products
