BESH - relocated to less offensive surroundings

Hi hags, here's our new thread. Did we decide to post the BESH-tionnaire or not? I'll have to go and dig it out if so..

Newbies - we think we're much like the ladies in the 'mind-numbing boredom of infertility' thread ladies, but we can't admit defeat, oh no. After the new recruits kind of dried up over in conception, we've moved over here where there are no insta-differs to send us into fits of rage/tears.

(BESH stands for Bitter Evil Selfish Hags - named so by the Daily Mail I think...) come and be bitter about the shit-ness that is infertility with us... Wine

Coop! A new thread! Proud of you Hag.
I'm happy with no questionnaire

Marking my space with basic introduction

blue - 37, TTC 3.5 years without a sniff until the recent round of IVF. Currently 13 weeks diffed and slightly in denial hence staying a BESH for a while yet!

I'm here, marking my spot.

Cave - 35, TTC#2. ESH-let #1 took 3 years, 5 failed rounds of Clomid and 3 rounds of Ovulation Induction. Currently 1 year down the line from starting TTC again and 10 dpo following another round of OI.

Just came across Ruth Crilly's blog - I was going to go all "another super beautiful model with a gorgeous baby doing a Gisele on us - ugh!" but she actually talks about spending 6-7 years TTC-ing for #1... Mmmhhh....

On the other hand, another FB pregnancy announcement, bump included. I met this woman in January and she mentioned she was about to start trying TTC... happy for her, she is lovely, but why does it have to be so hard for us? #pityparty.

Hi ladies, MrsH here. TTC #1 22 months. Found out 9 months ago Dh is azoospermic. Still waiting for a reason why and if surgery is an option.

Report
EricaJ · 06/06/2016 07:13

Hi MrsH,

Sorry you found yourself here. I don't know much about azoospermia, I'm afraid Are you waiting for a treatment proposal from the NHS?

Report
MrsH14 · 06/06/2016 07:40

Yep. We have an appointment this month to see if they think surgical removal might be an option.

Report
blue2014 · 06/06/2016 08:27

Hi MrsH - we also had sperms issues although just very low count rather than as severe as yours. Hoping the news regarding surgery is good news

Erica - you were happy for an instadiffer??! Where is your Hagness? ShockWink . How you feeling about the IVF now?

Report
EricaJ · 06/06/2016 09:41

Ok, ok Blue, "happy" may be a bit of an overstatement... Maybe just "not fucking raging" Wink

Mr Erica jizz tests have so far come back "normal"... Until now, where the pre-ivf sample has come back with a way-lower-than-normal amounts of morphologically normal swimmers... Going back to old tests, cannot see any actual figures for this so wonder if it is has been also an issue all along... Gah! Apparently it is not a massive problem when doing Ivf but he is going to hand over (ha ha ha ha ha ha!) another sample to see if it is any better.

I would ask for advice but start next month so not much we can do about it now.

Also, any point on trying some acupuncture now? Or I have I left iy too late? Hags? Barking? Bugs?

EricaJ · 06/06/2016 09:46

I am feeling pretty ok about it. Not massively hopeful but i think it is time for this a resolution to the TTC nightmare, one way or another.

We have discussed up to three attempts but I guess we will see how draining we find it....

Ok, "not fucking raging" will do Smile

God, Erica - they are really throwing new shit at you all of a sudden hey? Honestly I would put him on vitamins anyway, a month is something and it can't hurt. I would do Q10 and vitamin C but if it's not a massive problem you should be fine (we had problems with everything)

Thanks Blue! He has been on the macho Pregnacare for like 3 years... Maybe it was just a dodgy batch? Who knows!

I am on the folic acid, omega 3 with dha, baby aspirin, q10 and now vitD

And eating linseed like a fucking rabbit to help build a cushy linen!!

This is the healthiest I am going to get, my friends, hope it's enough!

Sucks we have to try so hard hey, I always hated avocados but heard they (and pineapples) helped post transfers so spent days eating them! I even kept my bloody feet warm Hmm

Shove some extra vitamin C in him anyway if it's easy enough, a glass of good orange juice should do it but it might also relate to when he last jizzed - there was a massive difference between 2 days and 6 days for Mr B (although I've heard that's only really relevant when you have low count but not sure) - it'll be fine I'm sure. Toe holds to you Hag.

EricaJ · 06/06/2016 16:06

Thanks Blue! I love avocados and pinneapples (is the core bit that one should eat, right?) so that is ok and keeping my feet warm in Spain in July should be "doable"! (Sweaty feet here I come!).

Very interesting about different results depending on how lonb ago they jizzed last? Was it two days later better then?

Report
blue2014 · 06/06/2016 16:21

No, 2 days was much worse - there were other factors (slightly less booze and more vitamins) but count quadrupled (first one was low though)

Yeah you should manage warm feet in Spain in summer, it's not Czech Republic is March is it? Grin

They say pineapple core for the ... Is it bromine? Anyway it's a blood thinner so aids circulation but if you doing baby aspirin anyway it might not be needed. I did pineapple juice in the end as coring a pineapple in a hotel room isn't that easy! Warm feet is for circulation too apparently. Avocado for vitamin E? I think?

Love it Icy! How are you doing, hag?

Do you remember that thread a couple of years ago where a woman posted worried that she may have got diffed after having bum sex with her husband because "something may have sneaked in the right place " and her period was late?? Of course she had, like, 5 dc already.

Report
blue2014 · 07/06/2016 07:50

Oh there was a another one of those recently, he'd come "near" here and she was late and looking like diffed. Jeez, if I bathed in the stuff nothing would happen Hmm

Report
EricaJ · 07/06/2016 08:11

Bathed in the stuff - lovely imagery, Blue!

How are you doing?? 13 weeks already and sounding quite sane! Grin

Report
blue2014 · 07/06/2016 08:47

It's got to also be good for your skin though, right?

Sane? Me? GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

(Not likely, quite insane, mum has taken me for a proper BESH because I'm just showing no emotion at all about the pregnancy - I'll try to be nice and excited after the next scan in 11 days, I still can't quite believe it's real even though I haven't brushed my teeth properly in about 8 weeks cos when I do it well, I throw upHmm)

Hi ladies, can I post here? I think I fit BESH to a T...esp B for bitter these days. 37, ttc 4.5years, husband is azoospermia (and I have autoimmune disease). Have done one round of ivf with an early miscarriage. Be heading into our second round in a couple of months.

MrsH - I see you had a recent azoo diagnosis. It's pretty devastating huh? For both of you. After hubby's jizz test came back as 0, they had him test for cystic fibrosis. Turns out he carries 2 heterozygous mutations of the gene, meaning he doesn't actually have CF, but as a carrier has some symptoms, one of which means an absence of vas deferens :( Anyway they managed to surgically extract immature sperm from his testicles for ICSI. Sperm was plentiful and fine, fertilisation was at a good rate etc. Just thought I'd tell you our story. Have they made any suggestions? I know I looked into every possible reason before we got the diagnosis: varicocele, injury/infection, klinefelter's etc...so happy to throw in my 2 cents if you're interested? Hope you get some answers soon anyway!! Waiting and not knowing is the pits.
