NHS literacy and numeracy tests

Hi,

I have an interview coming up for an unskilled band 2 job in the NHS. According to the interview there is a literacy and numeracy test prior to the interview. I have GCSEs and I have A Levels but I am terrible at maths and now I’m scared! Silly I know...

I just wondered if anyone has had this and could tell me what to expect?

I add up and use division every day to work out my insulin doses but that’s about as advanced as it gets.

The job is non patient contact, no giving of meds and needing to know doses etc...

Thank You

Hi I work in the HR Department for a CIC who provide care for people with LD and Mental Health issues. Our Numeracy and Literacy tests are quiet basic, I think it is classed as Entry Level 3 (2 below GSCE's).

We advise candidates to practice before hand on: www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise

I don't think it will be that different as we used to be connected to an NHS Trust before becoming independent!

I hope this helps or isn't too late Smile
