coming off income support

im due to start a new job in 2 weeks and I told a fib on my cv saying I am still in employment as not to show any gaps in my employment . im just wondering if income support once iv signed off contact ur new employer?? I am at my whits end as im frighned that my new employer is gonna see me as untrustworthy before I even start :(((

If you lied on your CV it would be right of your employer to see you as untrustworthy, you lied.

However, I don't think income support contacts your new employer. Why would they bother contacting your new employer when it means they pay you less money?

All you need to do is notify Income Support about your new employment, you may still be entitled to some support if your income is low.

The 'lie' may also come to light when they ask for references as usually they are asked to confirm date of employment or at least they have in all of the ones I have done

Not sure the DWP would contact them though.

Not saying you are or aren't trustworthy, just saying that if you lied to someone they have a reason to think you are untrustworthy.
