Wake Pea Up Before you Goji - 10/10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I am normally very good with what I say in front of the children, but the kettle isn't boiling properly and my tea doesn't taste how it should, so I said, " This kettle is really pissing me off."
And dd2 chimed in vehemently, "Yeah, me too!"

Hi Toot..and LR.

DD has gone to part of an old railway thingy.

I feel odd as I had anticipated her being around...

pmsl at dd2!

I really have to start curbing my language, I'm a real potty mouth

Report
ReallyReally · 10/06/2009 10:18

yes dd2 has a habit of going 'Oh my GOD' when things go wrong - could be worse I guess

last night I did dreadfully re f&v because I had a girl round for a playdate with dd1 who I suspect to be the daughter of a chef

I got myself into such a tizzy I ended up preparing an elaborate meal for the three of them - her and the two dds - for fear she would go home to her parents and say 'we had bought fishcakes for tea' and they would snigger about me

luckily she ate it - was v yummy - though as usual dds sat in front of it politely before we binned it

was by then too bored of cooking to make tea for me and dh so we got a chinese

we are going to see clinical psychologist on Friday re dd's food refusal and general pratting about at the dinner table so if there are any tips for reluctant eaters other than shouting and slamming cupboard doors I will pass them on

Morning veggers, Hello reallyreally, how are you? I am glad you are back at least on 10/10.

I am afraid I have no useful advice on the food refusing, except what you've heard a million times before, and probably tried a million times too.

Good luck, I hope you get some answers soon.

if it is heavy rain on Sunday, we will be right near both the maritime museum and the royal observatory, which are super places for children to be banished to with any dps that turn up, while we eat french pastries in the maritime museum cafe

RR how old is DD? It's a problem that's been going on for a long time isn;t it?

You were posting on that HTT thread about I think?

Does she like eating anything? I mean is it a problem at home and she'll happily go out for pizza, or does she not like food at all much?

Hi all

It is dh's ty-first birthday today so we are shortly going out for a meal

I am proudly sporting six stitches in my arm following my lesion removal this afternoon, histology results in 2 weeks

Also seen midwife today and filled out a form to recieve the health in pregnancy grant (new cash given out to all up-the-duffers). It's £190. I can buy 380 mangoes for that at the market. Hurrah

Hope you get some answers RR. It must be so very frustrating and worrying for you.

Haven't had elderflower champagne for years! Enjoy, Trolly.

Hi SB... DD is on steroids but is OKish.

I have nothing to report. I am either working, being mum or sleeping this week.
Just a general malaise (sore throat, swollen ankle, achey knees) Bit of a lostatsea week,

Eating well though and managing none impact exercise where possible.
