Why is it always so much harder to name a boy than it is a girl???

I find a lot of girls names now, the ones considered 'trendy' just sound outright silly. Same with boys too, but I also dont like traditional names....i'm so hard to please :o

I always liked Harper but it's all over the place now. Don't like Tabitha much.

Anya is better than Enya IMO.

What do you like for boys? Dylan? Mason? Kyle? (those are the first "non traditional" names that came up in my head :))

What about River, Rein, Reef (maybe spelt Reife) or Barney for a boy if you want something a bit different?

Enya - much prefer Anya (as others have said)
Caitlin - I like it - may be on our shortlist though DH seems to have already vetoed it!

Caitlin is a really lovely name but it's so popular it's lost it's appeal a little.
Harper, sigh, it's such a shame it's been Beckhamised and Disneyfied.
It's an old English name and I like the literary connection, but really unless you don't mind the Sleb comparison I wouldn't.

Not Caitlin, unless you are actually pronouncing it the proper Irish way, rather than Kate-Lyn, which is perfectly nice, but spell it like that. I like Tabitha, and never hear it as a cat's name. I have never forgiven Enya for 'Orinoco Flow', so that name tends to make me twitch a bit - what about Eithne, her real name? Or Aine (awn-ya)? Harper I've always like for Harper Lee, but the Beckhamisation element would put me off.
