My older sister fell out with me years ago. We have no contact. As far as I can understand the situation she objects to my very existence.

Because I didn’t go to my old places Christmas work do as my new place was the same night. I had left the old place in the January so literally after the last Christmas I spent there. I had been in the new job 11 months and obviously felt I had to go to their one, also apart from the one ‘friend’ everyone one else had changed in my old job so didn’t know hardly anyone. The ‘friend’ didn’t speak to me again after. confused

I have a friend who likes to go to a carvery.

I was in the pub, just for a coffee and noticed they now do a take away, so called friend to let her know.

She said,"I can't believe you are telling me that" burst into tears and hung up.

Apparently she thought I was having a carvery and just phoned to gloat.

At uni my flatmates had a massive food fight and completely destroyed the house we lived in. Lumps of Marmite were stuck to the ceiling. It was hideous. Totally trashed. I came home from work to utter carnage. They went away for the weekend and left me to deal with the landlord.

I thought screw that and moved out.

Apparently I was the bad guy?

I told her I’d met someone I really liked. Never heard from her again. She was a very close uni friend, he became my husband. I clearly missed the memo I wasn’t allowed to meet anyone. I did look her up on social media lately, 11 years on she is still single. Still baffled why she reacted so extremely to cut me off.

Hmm this thread has potential.
My boyfriend fell out with me last night because he’d put on my silk cap I wear in bed for smooth hair (it looks ridiculous) and I tried to take a photo. He claimed this was cruel and the moment was just for me not for me to laugh at at my leisure. Then he fell out more with me when I couldn’t stop laughing at his silk-capped indignation.

Recently? For modding the 'organisational' group chat for the club I run, and asking them (and the other involved members) to move their whingeing about the new lockdown to our 'general whatever' group instead.

We have 2 because a lot of the group don't like/have time for the off topic nonsense and banter so they can mute one and still get the important stuff. This was also at 11.30pm on a work night. I got 17 multi paragraph messages from them to 6.30am the next day ranting about it. hmm

There is a laundry list of ridiculousness from this individual going back years

TwinMumSuperHero Tue 04-Aug-20 07:30:42

One of my best friends at 13, I touched her arm too much and she thought I fancied her.
Friends again until 16 and I started my first proper relationship with a boy - I spent too much time with him and he was in love with someone else apparently
Not sure I could be a teenager again confused

GlamGiraffe Tue 04-Aug-20 07:34:32

Because I dont like Vienetta😯
The other person was so outraged and upset she left in tears. We could never truly bond.

JHaniver Tue 04-Aug-20 07:35:16

Year ago I shared a news article about racist hate crime on Facebook. A family friend replied and stated that I was calling her a racist, and proceeded to write abusive messages to me all day until the evening when I first spotted them and blocked her. No idea why she thought it had anything to do with her, it was utterly bizarre.

Aroundtheworldin80moves Tue 04-Aug-20 07:35:51

Because I apparently told people about an accident she had had. Except I hadn't... And she had returned to the group before she had. But it must have been me, not one of the other five people who had witnessed the accident. And the whole group collectively decided I was 'guilty'

Made for a very uncomfortable rest of the holiday (10 days being ostracized by everyone).

Pizzapromotion Tue 04-Aug-20 07:40:37

I think there's more than one version of some of these stories. For example, did you really just say you dislike Vienetta or did you trash childhood memories of this special treat in the stuck up way it's often done on MN?

PurBal Tue 04-Aug-20 07:41:45

I danced with a guy that her sister fancied. We were at her wedding. It was regular dancing, no sexy stuff, no slow dances, no touching, no alcohol involved.

whoami24601 Tue 04-Aug-20 07:42:05

My sister fell out with me in November 2018 because she had an argument with my mum 🤷‍♀️ we haven't spoken since and she tells everyone it's my fault! She didn't come on a family holiday (already paid for and she's terminally on benefits so doesn't have loads of spare cash!) Because apparently I'd been so mean!

Does the silk cap really work @Queenoftheashes?

When I went to college there was two in close distance

I had a lot of friends in the second college and a group in the one I attended.

Me and another friend would travel to the second college for lunch as there was more food variety and our friends were there too.

Would invite the group from first college to come with us, but they would decline.

I said it was boring hanging around first college at lunch because there was barely any decent food and no where nice to sit

They took this to me saying they were boring and fell out with me confused

Was a quiet couple of weeks before they realised it was a bit petty

I still went to second college every lunch time

Roussette Tue 04-Aug-20 07:52:28

Long time ago.

Flatmate stopped speaking to me and then moved out.

I got a boyfriend. (She had loads of boyfriends but preferred me without one)

RonnieBob Tue 04-Aug-20 07:58:54

A friend fell out with me because I said how much she looked like her Dad who’d recently died. Literally took huge offence and was outraged I’d said she looked like her Dad 🤷‍♀️

Queenoftheashes Tue 04-Aug-20 07:59:25

@Ginfordinner yes! My hair is way less frizzy after I sleep in it

cookiemonster5 Tue 04-Aug-20 08:01:59

I have 2. Concerting the same person. Her story is she fell out with me for "losing" a skirt I borrowed for a night out. Except she didn't loan me the skirt and that night it was being worn by the real "loanee". The real story is that I "ruined" a pair of boots she loaned me again for the night out. They had been reheeled and obviously wearing boots wears down the heels and they weren't brand new looking when I returned them. I paid to have them heeled again but it wasn't good enough.

The second time was after the birth of my youngest son. I was still suffering with repeated infections and breastfeeding with him only being 6 weeks it was still early days. I had a csection too but she wanted me to drive 2 hours to her house and go out on the piss for her birthday. The weekend she picked was one of my other children's birthdays so clearly I wasn't going to go to her over my own child. But she never spoke to me again. It's been over 3 years now. Think I'm better off.

ScubaSteven Tue 04-Aug-20 08:05:23

When I was a teenager a girl I knew was having a meltdown in a pub toilet and so I phone her boyfriend to collect her. She told me some information from her past that I chose to keep to myself with the intention of speaking to her about once she was sober.

She rang me the next day absolutely furious that I had told a mutual friend this information, I hadn't and it transpired that she had told her herself earlier in the night. Mutual friend and I hadn't even seen each other in that time. But she wouldn't have it and has always maintained that I'd betrayed her and broken her confidence to all of my friends and anyone else who'd listen.

It's was bizarre, the information was pretty much a non-event and not one person said that I'd told them. But apparently this was the only way other people would know. She made my life hell for a few years after that.

As an adult my friend told me that my boyfriend fancied her and that they were a much better 'fit'. Then she stopped talking to me and told everyone I'd stolen the boyfriend away from her, they'd never been together at any point. We've been married for 10 years and she still doesn't speak, I can only imagine this is through embarrassment.

QueenCT Tue 04-Aug-20 08:05:51

She stole from me and then got offended when I pulled her up about it and denied it all confused

romdowa Tue 04-Aug-20 08:12:09

I became chronically ill at 21, couldn't drink and party anymore. "Friends" dropped like flies 😂😂 I was the bad guy for being sick and trying to ruin the fun

sundreamsx Tue 04-Aug-20 08:17:15

I got my hair done and went from brown to blonde a few years ago and a uni friend at the time who had black hair said she couldn’t believe I’d be so cruel and flaunt being blonde in her face when she couldn’t go blonde- Literally just turned up for a lecture, she kicked off, stormed out, blocked me on all social media then spent the rest of the year glaring at me from the back of the room every lecture. Never heard from her again after uni ended, I did social media stalk her a while ago after I had to make a new profile and can confirm she is in fact now blonde grin
