AIBU?

To know it's all gone wrong night before 12 week scan?

I've had such a good gut feeling this entire pregnancy. Now my 12 week scan is tomorrow and I feel so numb because I just know the baby's dead. I know it's gone wrong. I can just sense it. All the threads I've read about mmc say that they just knew and that's exactly how I feel. The day before my scan. What a sick joke :( can these feelings ever be wrong? Sorry I know it doesn't belong here but posting for traffic I need answers or I'm going to do nothing other than cry all night. This can't be happening.

Yes, you can be wrong. It’s a feeling. You’ve got no way of knowing either way. Flowers

Calm down and wait for the scan. A feeling is just that, you may well be wrong.

Yes, you can be wrong. Sometimes we’re right about these things and other times we’re just really worried. Fingers and toes crossed you are pleasantly surprised tomorrow after seeing your baby, good luck Smile

I and several friends felt like this, we were all wrong.

Do you normally suffer with anxiety?

If you have anxiety generally, and have been on here reading about this sort of thing happening, then that's why you're feeling this way. You're working yourself up into a panic because the anxious part of your brain is taking over.

You won't know anything until the scan. Your feelings aren't a true indicator and can be completely wrong, especially if you're anxiety prone and have already been thinking a lot about this.

There's nothing anyone can say to calm you down, but you need to try. Breathe, relax, tell yourself it's just in your head and nothing is certain get.

For what it's worth I was utterly convinced I'd lost the baby just before my 12w scan. I was up all night anxious about it, telling my partner I just didn't feel pregnant any more.

I'm now 30w and everything is fine. As hard as it might be try not to worry, have a long soak in the bath, try to calm your anxious thoughts.
Whatever happens tomorrow, you can deal with it. Flowers

Yeah I’ve had that feeling, twice. One time the pg had stopped growing. Other time he was kicking around inside me like a mad thing, and is on the couch just now. If you have a feeling and then it turns out to match reality you will assume the feeling was correct - it’s a coincidence.

I felt like this with both mine after my own mmc. I was convinced. But they were fine.

I can't justify calling the emergency number in my notes can I? Part of me is thinking to feel this strongly all of a sudden has to mean something and I don't want to not say anything if they could of stopped it. Also don't want to ring if it's not appropriate

Thoughts aren't facts. Your anxiety is making you feel dread. But this does not mean something bad will happen. You are stronger than you think xx

Thank you all so much. Feel like I'm losing my mind. I've had MC in the past but something just felt so right this pregnancy, since day one I've just had such a good feeling and none of the anxiety so to suddenly be hit this hard by such a sure feeling that the baby's dead is really knocking me. Hopefully it's just nerves.

Yes you can be wrong, I was wrong with my DS. Try not to stress yourself out, ( I know easier said than done ) it's such an emotional time. Good luck for tomorrow 💐💐

In my first pregnancy I knew the baby had died, and it had, I found out just before my scan was due as I started bleeding. This time round I also knew the baby had died, but it hadn't, and last week I saw our wriggly little baby at my dating scan. Feelings aren't reality, and how we remember our feelings doesn't necessarily correspond to reality either. Good luck and sending you a handhold Flowers it's a scary time but you can't predict the future X

Yes your feelings can be wrong.

No need to panic, you're not bleeding or in pain. You just have a funny feeling - could be hormones, a virus coming, anything. Go for your scan as planned, and try to be open minded. Easier said than done, I know. A night worrying isn't going to do either of you any good Flowers

I've felt like this bad paid for early scans and everything was ok / anxiety is a bitch. Have some dinner get some sleep and you'll have that little photo in no time.
Good luck x

I was convinced it was all over the night before my 12 week scan. Cried all night, all the way to the hospital. My baby is now 6 weeks old and perfectly healthy! It's just a feeling. You've no way of actually knowing.

I felt the same way. I was convinced they were going to tell me there was nothing there and it was all in my head.

I had no pregnancy symptoms at all before the scan and at 8 weeks I even done another test to make sure.

She's now 2 and eating her dinner.

Try not to worry which I know is easier said than done and go for your scan.

What time is it at?

Im sure everything is ok. But even if you were to call tonight they would just say come to the scan tomorrow, as nothing they do tonight xx

I never had that feeling when I actually had missed miscarriages. I had absolutely no idea anything was wrong and was totally flawed when I found out.

During my last pregnancy following the missed miscarriages I was utterly convinced something was wrong. There wasn’t and he’s now ten weeks old. Feelings are just that, they’re not always accurate.

I had a MC with my first pregnancy and then felt out of my mind with anxiety during my subsequent pregnancies. Especially during the early months.

I really empathise with how you’re feeling and I’m as certain as a stranger in the internet can be that this is your anxiety screaming and all will be fine tomorrow.

I felt like this and everything was fine and she’s 8 now.. try to relax and get an early night. What time tomorrow is your scan?

Houseonahill · 09/01/2019 17:44

Yes I had exactly this all was fine then a few days before 12 week scan I "Just knew" something wasn't right, was terrified what they were going to say. I'm now cuddling my perfectly healthy nearly 2 year old so feelings can be just that. Try not to worry Flowers

Don't worry OP, I felt like this too but everything was fine.
